04' USC was certainly the most glamorous team of all time but the early 90's Nebraska teams were pretty wicked.

2005 Texas Longhorns. VY was a beast, that defense was nasty, and nobody could beat them.

No doubt, when you go to a BCS title game that is basically a home game for the "best team ever" & win in a thrilling comeback fashion in what many have called the best game ever, it has to be the 2005 UT Longhorns.

Cant tell if that's sarcasm but it was the b12 championship year.

no sarcasm, the probation year was 1995 I think / The 1998 aggies were good, but no national championship appearance. Maybe the best big 12 championship game I ever saw!

2005-2006 USC Trojans. I mean for 1 whole month before they decided to give the Horns the championship, ESPN compared them to all the teams in the past. Best team EVER!

2004 Trojans(Homer pick)

Virtually that same team got beaten at home in the title game the next year.

That was the best USC team ever, but since they got lucky to get BCS choker Oklahoma one year but the unfortunate fate to get The Beast the next they just can't be in the running here.

The two national championship Nebraska teams with Tommy Frazier.........I think it was 93-95........anyhow, they would kick all the teams asses that were mentioned. They beat an undefeated Florida team in the national champion ship 60-20 or something like that.

Mike Williams. He may have sucked in the NFL, but he was a beast before getting suspended.

they didnt give Texas anything.........Texas and Vince went out there and took it. You sound like Matt Leinart right after the game, acting like a sissified sore loser who just got his lunch money stolen by Vince......"Well we are still the better team".......blah blah blah.....

NONE of yalls gay ass suggestions would have beat Texas. Terrell fucking brown sacrificed his right forearm in an attempt to stop the greatest receiver of the year from scoring. Yes he failed, but that is but a taste of the dedication and heart our defense had that year.

We would have handed your team their taints if we played them. Not even close. VY best college player of all time, and if you don't know, now ya know nigga.

UT 05 was hella good and had loads of heart. and the fact that they beat "the greatest team of all time" means they are greater than the greatest team of all time. thus the longhorns are now the greatest team of all time.

If you want about greatness over a sustained period, it's got to be Columbia from 1983-88.

I'll go with the mid 90s Nebraska team with Tommie Frazier and Lawrence Phillips that just shredded up Danny Weurffel's Gators on their way to the title.

Nebraska and Phillips beat the Gators almost as bad as Phillips beat his ex-GF.

That team had way too many close calls leading up to the NT to be called that. I remember being down 21-3 going into half time vs ASU, and being down double digits almost every week going into half time. Once we played a top 10 team, they stepped up though. It's the same problem they have now. I remember watching them beat UCLA like 65-17.

Not a single college team on the face of the planet could have beat the 2005 UT Longhorns. Not one.

It wasn't just Vince Young either.

Texas had the best 3 deep running backs corps in the nation(USC had the best 2 deep) featuring Selvin Young, Jamaal Charles and the 2nd best offensive player on that team Ramonce Taylor.

Not to mention 2 Thorpe award winners in the secondary and a linebacking group with no white guys
