The one that actually poked some fun at Dems....

Is gone.

Pulled from NBC's website; yanked from YouTube.

Every Palin skit still readily available.

What a strange coincidence.

Why would it not be funny? Just not funny to Democrats because it's only funny if Republicans are being made fun of.

SNL is just satire and they have no political motivation.

It was fucking great; especially when Tina Fey gave the exact same answer as Palin did on the interview. :lmao

the video may not be available, but Rush played the audio on his show today and it was VERY funny! He will have a link to it on his website.

When those two guys were talking about how they met the "criteria" for sub-prime loans, I was laughing out loud!

I didn't know they did a skit on that.
I wish I could find the link somewhere.

I've never really been a fan of SNL, but of the bits I've seen, I can tell that show has lost its luster over the years.

The Palin skits are HILARIOUS though...I could watch those over and over.
Tina Fey really nails that role!

NBC Edits ‘Saturday Night Live’ Sketch
By BRIAN STELTER

NBC has taken the unusual step of editing the online video version of a “Saturday Night Live” skit.

Two characters in a sketch about the Congressional bailout are no longer labeled “people who should be shot” in the revised version of the video, which was posted online Tuesday evening. Those two characters represented actual people, Herb and Marion Sandler, who sold subprime loans to Wachovia.

NBC abruptly removed the skit from its Web site on Tuesday, prompting some bloggers to surmise that the network had come under pressure to make it disappear. The sketch, which portended to be a C-SPAN press conference with “victims” of the financial crisis, assigned some of the blame to Democrats.

Explaining the move, NBC said in a statement: “Upon review, we caught certain elements in the sketch that didn’t meet our standards.”

The couple had expressed their anger to Lorne Michaels, the executive producer of “SNL,” who told the Los Angeles Times that he did not realize the characters were real people until Monday. “When I spoke to them, I can assure you this: They are very, very real,” he said. “I think they were angry, I think distraught, I think they were not expecting to turn on the television and see that.”

He said the couple did not specifically request that changes be made to the video. Nonetheless, the graphic and a reference to “corrupt activities” were removed from the Internet video.

In the sketch, the character playing Mr. Sandler says: “My wife and I had a company which aggressively marketed sub-prime mortgages and then bundled them as securities to sell to banks such as Wachovia. Today our portfolio is worth almost nothing, though at one point it was worth close to $19 billion.”

The host of the press conference asks: “Were you able to sell it for anything?”

“Yes, for $24 billion,” the character responds.

The case demonstrates that “SNL” sketches on television may be fleeting, but once they are uploaded to the Internet, the scenes have a long shelf life.

Saying someone should be shot is a nono in this day and age. Not surprising they'd have to change it so much as it's surprising that it was used in the first place.

If that's the only part they edited, I don't see anything wrong with that. Especially considering those people were real people. But I saw the actual skit and it was pretty funny IMO. SNL makes fun of both parties. If you watch it consistently you will realize that.

Tina Fey was not an actress on the show in those eras, but a writer. So she does not belong.

I seem to remember her taking part in quite a few sketches and hosting weekend update every week for 3 or 4 years. I wasn't really referring to any era, just people who have been quite funny on the show since Belushi.

SNL is just plain unfunny.

Just watching it now, I must admit there were moments I did, but yeah, can't say I laughed.

Just curious how come they don't crack Joe Biden or Obama jokes.

I mean, they don't have an agenda or are supporting either candidate duh

SNL's Palin bits were good, but it would be funny to see them go after Obama like they did Gore and Bush in 2000.
