View Full Version : Pats vs Chargers

Fortunately sold my tickets once Brady went down, no reason to pay to see a great team play at less then full strength.

We all remember last year in the playoffs what happened between these two teams, the Patriots beat a battered Chargers team that was minus Tomlinson, Gates, and Rivers playing on a torn ACL. No one seemed to bring up the fact that all these injuries most likely affected the outcome of this game.

Fast forward to this year. If the Chargers win, I have no doubts that the Chargers will be given no credit because Tom Brady is out. The Patriots loss will be because Tom Brady is out, not because the Chargers out played them. Not because the Chargers are also dealing with injuries and overcame them, but all because of Tom Brady.

I'm pissed that Brady isn't playing because I wanted a fair match-up.

And to all those who are down on the Chargers remember this.............
They are 1 last second play, 1 bad call, and 1 yard run from being 5-0.

So what is the excuse for the Pats curbstomping your team 38-14 in Week 2 last year, when you guys were at full strength?

Oh yeah, I forgot, "Spygate just came out and the Patriots were super extra motivated to win :cry"

What does week 2 of last year have to do with any of this? No mention of the completely new coaching staff?

You fail to see the point. I already can hear the excuses before this game is played and that sucks. I bought a ticket to see Brady vs. the Chargers and I'm pissed I don't get to see that any more. It's probably better for the Chargers because they can't finish a game right now.

You fail to see the point. I already can hear the excuses before this game is played and that sucks.

The only excuses made right now are from you, for every loss the Chargers have ever had.

I'd love to hear the excuses when the Chargers lose this one.

:lmao oh, so that's the excuse "After having only two previous gigs, Norv still needed more time to adjust to being our head coach :cry"I'm not getting into some retarded argument about a week 2 game of last year, but for you to just brush off an entirely new coaching staff not having an impact on a team is about as retarded as us discussing this any further.

The only excuses made right now are from you, for every loss the Chargers have ever had.

I'd love to hear the excuses when the Chargers lose this one.I haven't made any excuses thus far. I realize they are injured and not playing to their potential, but that is not making excuses. I realize the loss of Merriman has had a greater impact that I had ever imagined, but that is not an excuse. There will be no excuses from me if they lose against New England.

You won't need any excuses when the Pats lose because ESPN will cover those for you.

all these injuries most likely affected the outcome of the this game-------where is the excuse here? I just made a simple observation. Star RB out, star TE out, QB on torn ACL, of course these thing could have never affected the outcome of 4 redzone opportunities.

They are 1 last second play, 1 bad call, and 1 yard from being 5-0-------where is the excuse in this statement? Looks like 3 facts to me.

You're a fucking retard and I'm looking forward to you NOT blaming this loss on the absence of Tom Brady.

4 massive gut punches in 2 years from my 2 favorite teams is too much to take. i was pissed last night but right now i seriously have no interest in ever being this disappointed ever again in my life, much less for something as trivial as this. i just have no interest in watching anything Mavericks or Patriots related ever again. I would agree with your assessment however from my pov at best the Chargers could be 4-1 or 3-2.....the fluke play (Carolina) and as for the Fins game, the game would've been tied had SD pushed it in....doesn't mean that the Chargers would not have won but it's hard to say which way that game could've gone.....even with the Chargers momentum.

Not down on your Chargers-despite their record, I still think they are the best team in the AFC West....whenever they get their act together.

I'm saying don't be a pussy and make excuses for losing. If you lose, you lose. You weren't good enough. End of story.

Charger Fan has incredible difficulty accepting that their team wasn't (and currently isn't) good enough. Crap like that is shocking for a Patriots fan who accepted than his 18 win team wasn't the best in the league last year.

IMO the SB is flukish, more often than not in recent history, the best team has not won the SB.
"Best team" (if you need it defined) meaning the team that would win the SB the most times if you rewound time and replayed the season 100 times or so

if 07 was played over 100 times, It's a tight race between NE and SD, NYG isn't even close
They were not the best team last year, they were just the SB winners. the two are not one in the same

The Matt Cassel Project is officially a failure. I'm no tough guy bragging about my athletic prowess on the internet, but I think I can say with certainty that I'm capable of throwing a better deep ball than that piece of shit Cassel. 90% of us on the board probably can.

Patriots are still good enough to make the playoffs cuz their division sucks....but they obviously will get curbstomped and knocked out right away. It's time for Belichick to tank the season and get some more help on defense.

Props to the Chargers for kicking the Patriots asses all over the field. They will win that division if they can keep that consistency going.

As for the Pats, the D blows and it's pissing me off. Bad D pisses me off more than bad O. Then again we have some old fossils starting on D which isnt helping matters. Hopefully they just get better on D with what they have.

Rivers did very well. Sproiles is a blast to watch. Malcomn Floyds catch was a highlight too imo. Idiotic Norv having him chained to the bench all this time. :bang
Norv is still a moron. Your boring predictable offense and lips attatched to LTs butt will end up costing the Chargers a game. Very likely a playoff game.
D line kicked and Jamal is the man at nozeguard.

Pats you have serious problems, all the way up to Bellicheat. The 1st and goal from the 2 yd line calls stunk imo. Altho on the third down play (i think 3rd ) a Pats guy was wide open.

Norv is still a moron. Your boring predictable offense and lips attatched to LTs butt will end up costing the Chargers a game. I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one.

Norv has handed the reigns to Rivers. They aren't even running LT in on goaline situations, Rivers is lining up in the shotgun from the 2 yard line. I hardly consider that being Norv's lips attached to LT's butt. Now if Marty were still coaching I'd have to think he would have stuck with LT and not opened up the passing game.

This could be great for the team with LT injured at this point. They get to open up the passing game, gain confidence, and then when the playoffs come they have a healthy LT ready to surprise people along with a polished passing game.

Fabbs
10-15-2008, 04:11 PM
Yeah but he still tries that LT up the middle crap way too much.

My bigger beef is how he shows the defense pass or run formation in advance. Why not do play action a large % of the time? Plus are we ever going to see LT pass again along with 4 wideouts on a regular basis ie Cam Camerons record setting offense of 2006? (It was not Martys, Marty had n-o-thing to do with that and was ordered to turn the offense over to Cam after another disgusting Martyball loss at Baltimore left them at 3-2.)
