It's brutal.........just brutal.
Andy Everett seems like a nice enough guy, but wow, he has about as much color as air does. C3P0 thinks the guy is stiff and needs to loosen up. The Sahara desert thinks he is too dry......and so on. I can't listen to him for more than 5 minutes at a time or else my ear shrivels up and becomes useless.
Someone needs to yank the life support cord.

I enjoy their show for the most part. The only show I listen to on the Ticket 760 these days. That being said, Paul Alexander's Longhorn Pipeline blows away the Ticket's poor attempt to cater to the Longhorn fans. I was pumped after Paul's show. I was only happy to hear Horn talk on the Ticket and get a break from the Dallas Cowboys Offical Radio Station.

play this game: count how many times Everett says "and uhhhh"
I'm tellin ya.....it's brutal....
and what makes it worse is that they have some top tier guests on the show.
I listen to it because it's still local sports.....and it's not half bad.
Try listening to 98.5 and those corny mofo's.

Hold on Blake....
We've had WNBA Coaches, Minor League Hockey Players, and 6th String PGA Golfers. :bang We book our ASS OFF!!!
I've been working on getting the Women's Lacrosse coach on from Marquette and still chasing a Jockey from Retama to tell me about a horse I couldn't give 2 sh*** about.
But We do have Wade Phillips on Wednesday mornings.

so it's "2nd tier" guests then?
Pete, you're the type of host that seems like when you listen, you're hanging out at the bar watching the games on the big screen talking some knowledgable junk with his compadres, saying "ha, that's what you get for drafting Braylon Edwards in the 1st round"......and that's what I figure average Joe listener wants
but Andy......God bless his tin-man heart.......it feels like he is walking on eggshells trying not to offend anyone.......like he's afraid his church pastor is listening and will go off on him on Sunday morning if he talks bad about anyone else.
I could get really bad here, talking trash about C3PEverett, but the guy seems nice enough and I always hated seeing the nice nerdy kid in class get picked on, so I'm done. Good luck with the show.

I was listening to the Ticket this morning (Friday) and heard Walter Pasacrita's sports blitz from . . . . Thursday morning. Not one word about Game 1 of the NLCS or the Spurs' pre-season opener -- just yesterday morning's news packed concisely into a 30 second bit for consumption on Friday morning. Nothing like devotion to a craft and working hard to keep the listener informed.

Pasacrita and Chancellor together wasn't bad. Vexler went from being the very good news reporter and highly knowledgeable color guy on Spurs rewind to the very annoying talkshow host. In retrospect, probably a bad career move.
As for Andy, he's probably got to play the straight man to Peter, the opinionated outspoken guy. Seems to me its a balancing act.
All that said, I'd love to see Bruno picked up somewhere. None better.

Pasacrita has no business being on the radio.
That said, Andy Everett is probably the best host GNR ever had, and when they dropped him from that, that show went down hill, only briefly brought back to life by the Thompson brothers.
Andy and Peter's show is worth listening to in the morning, after that you flip to Paul Alexander, hang around a little while after, then the Thompsons, then Chris Duel.
SA radio is improving.

Everett was lying this morning....
not only do I think he has Yanni and John Tesh on his Ipod, but he has Elton John's greatest hits, a DVD of Josh Grobin's Christmas Special as well as the digitially mastered CD of Peter Cetera's Karate Kid Part 2 soundtrack

That isn't a good thing. The more I hear from him, the more I think he is clueless to whats going on with his own team. He isn't a good interview...ever.

Not when he went off on a caller who said they cursed too much. Never heard a host tell a caller to go away and change the station, especially from a wannabe tough-guy who would prefer to talk golf 24 hours a day.

That was weird.
Burns went off on the guy. Andy tried to go off on the guy, but you can tell he just isn't used to telling anyone off. It was more awkward than anything. :lol
Of course, what made it weird is that I don't really know what the heck the caller was referring to. I didn't hear any real cursing, which most likely would bring some FCC fines if allowed to be broadcast. I think ass was used, but that's a pretty common word in many talk radio shows......most notably, Jim Rome uses the word ass at least 4 times an hour.

Well, there is your problem. Firefly is where it's at.

I think the guy was just referring to all of the sports talk in this town. I know Taylor and Duel both have a lot of "Adult" humor on the show, and I know we've made a point not to do it. Although some of it is funny as hell
I was the one who went off on the caller. Told him to punch the button and listen to Q101.9.

Yeah. I thought the first few weeks, it was just him taking it easy, but the more we have him on, the more it comes across as he's just a happy go lucky guy and seems to be a little aloof.
Going to be interesting to see. Jerry Jones cancelled on WOAI this morning, so let's see if Wade shows up tomorrow....

I was a Spurtalk guy before the show, and will be a Kori/TimVP/Spurstalk after the show.
It's one of the 1st sites I visit before the show. You get a lot of the true feedback on stories in the forums. Honestly, when TIMVP posts something about the Spurs, it's almost dead on, and much more insightful that you get from any f'n beat writer.
True opinions are tough to come by, both with columnists and radio guys, because now they are afraid to upset the wrong people. That's why I love the forums. It's the stuff that people think, and are afraid to say it.
Regarding taking shit from the posters, it's a funny thing. What you don't know if how much guys in the media surf these sites. Both for material and feedback of their product. No matter if it's radio, Tv, or print.
It doesn't bother me at all. As many of ya know, I went through some rough stuff 18 months ago, both with Sportschick, and my brother nearly dying.
Now 12 months down the road, I've got my dream job, my brother and family are healthy, so when the worst thing that happens is someone say my show sucks....I smile and think about how much worse it could be......I mean, I could be on ESPN radio........

I have given up on Sports Talk Radio except for occassionally listening to Paul Alexander and Pete's Fantasy Football Show on the weekend. The rest of it is pollution to my ears. Taylor acting like Jerry Jones' girlfriend is sickening.

you mean Kiley and Booms?
Theyve tried all sorts of afternoon lineups after Jim Rome, and theyve had troubles filling the 2-3pm slot ever since Rome cut it down from 4 hours to 3.
I recall afternoons with JT the Brick, then there was "the Drive" with this chick CJ and some other dude I cant remember, and most recently, Chris Myers. There's probably more Im forgetting.
my favorite lineup ever on 760 was when they had Tony Bruno/Andrew Siciliano in the morn, Rome next followed by K & B....

No, they had Duel and Booms together for a year maybe back in 03. I remember sitting in my truck in between classes at SAC napping and waking up to catch Chris flip out at some of the things Booms said.

Ticket 760's lineup is the best it has ever been. Burns and Everett are like Martin and Lewis, the bombastic mutant paired with the calm intellectual. STSA just gets better and better. Mike Taylor came from the Dallas market to upgrade this sleepy little town and Jim Bob is the funniest sidekick since Andy Richter. If you people don't get it, then you're idiots.

yeah, after Booms was fired from his national gig with Kiley, Woai gave him a job with Duel after they moved Charlie (I forget where......either over to the ticket or early morning Woai.)
