Heading out to the hill country this weekend for some bow hunting and I was thinking about taking some Rye with me as a decent single malt scotch is fucking unreasonable at over $100 for anything worth drinking (I'm partial to 18 y.o. and older), I do like a good single batch bourbon (Blanton's, Jefferson Reserve, etc.) but looking to expand my horizons. The two shops close to the house (Stone Oak area) don't stock any so anyone out there have an idea?

Kentucky Gentleman, it's the best stuff out there.

I love this from their site:

"Authentic bourbon taste"

Well, if you're going to make a bourbon, that would probably be a good place to start...

I don't drink a whole lot of the hard stuff, but when I do, I'm perfectly happy with a nice bottle of Jim Beam.

I don't know much about rye whiskeys, so I'll just tell you to settle for some 12 year glenlivet. I'm partial to 18 too, but damn, in these shameful economic times it's tough to drop +100 on a fifth, plus it's not like the 12 year stuff is bad by any means.

I had some rye once a long time ago. Ew. I'll stick to the 18-year old Macallens.
