Even I have to admit its kind of funny how this thing imploded all in 1 week. :lol

Its not over yet…but we're walking a tightrope.

The NFL is wide open for anyone.

Its more painful for implosion to happen slowly…I'd rather rip off the Band-Aid at one time.

Agreed.

It was going well though...Michigan State won and Michigan lost, Texas won then the Redskins lost! I was like " This could be the perfect weekend" Of course I said that, then 5 minutes later Steve Breaston scored. :bang

The deal is for a 1st, 3rd, 6th in 09 and getting a 7th back in 09. It's already done.

Given how the first 3 games went compared to the last 3, I think Kyle Kosier is the MVP of the team.

This deal for Williams is the football equivalent of Bill Clinton firing cruise missles at Afghanistan the same day he gave his grand jury testmony. Jerry's just doing damage control so the Pacman thing won't be the only story in the news.

They have been working on this since the pre-season though.

This was a good move.

It was expensive, but it could turn out to have been well worth it. If we drafted a receiver in the first next year, there would be no certainty that he would turn out. We would waste two years waiting for him to turn out while TO gets older... If that receiver doesn't turn out, we have to waste yet another pick for a WR. What we get now is a solid guy who is already established as a WR and can contribute NOW.

If they've been working on getting raped by the Lions for three months, then mission accomplished.

How did they get raped? They traded what will be a low first round pick on a position they would have used it on anyway for a sure thing young WR. Plus a 3 & 6....big deal.

That brings up something interesting. The Redskins were willing to give 2 first round picks for him and the Bengals turned it down. This trade was fine.

Its come out now here in DFW that Jerry was openly telling Goddell that PAC has a drinking problem, and that this whole fight with the bodyguard resulting in suspension was a ploy Jerry used to save face and get the draft picks back for a pacman that just wasnt that good.

I'm really curious to see how this week goes. OL got shredded in the last game... immobile QB back there now who can't get the ball deep... only 1 RB on the team with real experience... unproven punter... doesn't look good.

Luckily they play the Rams :toast

That pick isn't a for sure late 20s pick. CBs are a mess, OL has been playing like a sieve and Romo is out for 3-4 games. I can see them going 9-7 or 8-8 and just missing the playoffs or making the playoffs and a one and done.

Having that pick fall at #19 or #20 isn't unfathomable.

Way too early to tell, IMO.

admit it - if the Redskins made that same trade, you all would be using it as yet another example that Cerrato/Snyder don't have a clue as to how to win in the league.

Only if Roy was 35 and if this was the 9th draft choice they traded for a player in the past 5 years.

The that would be how the Redskins would do it.

the redskins have a bad habit of signing free agents past their primes (although not as many as the media gives them credit for).

but the vast majority of the guys that they have traded for have been young. not all have worked out - but most have: portis, coles, moss, campbell*, mcintosh*, cooley*, samuels*, lloyd(bust)

*traded away picks to move up to draft these players

guys like brunell & TJ duckett are the exceptions. even then, brunell did lead them to a playoff victory and duckett was traded for simply as an insurance policy surrounding portis' injury (which turned out to be not-so-bad).

The dickhead comment had nothing to do with you personally and everything to do with the fact that it was the skins. If you had brought the Bucs or Browns into the thread you wouldn't have reached dickhead status.

The Redskins wouldn't make this trade, they'd be too busy signing a washed up former MVP and then...

Damn, I didn't post it fast enough. :)

And I agree, the dickhead comment was unnecessary.
