Who are they? This dipshit stried to argue with me that Asante Samuel is better than Nnamdi Asomugha.

1. Champ
2. Asomugha
3. Deltha O'Neal
Chad Johnson

Chad Johnson is the best corner in the league. only 85 can stop 85.
everyone else gonna need this

How is Asante doing in Philly? Seeing how godawful O'Neal & Hobbs are, I'm inclined to believe that he was truly a great corner and wasn't just a benefactor of "the system" that the Patriots run.
Asante isn't really a "shutdown" corner tho, he's more of a playmaking corner. He'll give up a lot of catches but he always tends to make a pick or deflection exactly when the team needs him to.

He also said "Champ isn't the same Champ from 2 years ago" He might not be, but he is definitely still top 2. And Nnamdi doesn't get the ball thrown to him enough to be a play maker. 32 times last year it was thrown his way.

Nnamdi is definitely the best CB in the league now.
Champ is definitely top two, but Nnamdi has amazing instincts and smarts, better tackling, more strength, and better size. Champ relies a little more on his pure speed and quickness.
No way should Asante be in the discussion with those two guys in the league.

Asante is really a great zone corner. He can't cover man-to-man very well, but in zone, you don't want to throw in his area. He has great ball-hawking instincts.

1. Asomugha
2. Bailey
3. Newman or Finnegan (Finnegan has been very very good. I feel right now Newman is still better, and the reason he hasn't looked great this year is due mostly to injury)

Newman doesn't belong anymore, he can't stay healthy.

Yeah I have to agree…I love Newman…he isn't a "name" because he doesn't snag a lot of int's but the guy is officially injury prone now. Too bad.

Newman is quietly one of the best CBs. But agreed, he is officially injury prone. This year their are good CBs out there, but no one really stands out above the rest in my opinion.

Champ is as good as he was a couple of years ago, but the Broncos can't put any pressure on QB's so it's even harder for him. And when I say they can't put any pressure, I literally mean none, zero, nothing at all.
I also think Champ is one of the best tackling CB's I've ever seen in my life.

if newman was healthy against Washington he sucked. Newman is good, but not top 3 good even when healthy.

I don't really disagree, but I still say if Champ had any help up front then it may be a different story.

I'll tell you who is waaaay overrated..........Dre fucking Bly.
I wish the Broncos would trade him, or shoot him, one of the two.

The Patriots will take him!
Deltha O'Neal is so bad he makes Ellis Hobbs look like Deion.

Deion Sanders probably had a lot to do with people thinking INT's is the truest stat to define a CB.

Asomugha gets no help from his offense though. Hes on the field like 59 minutes of the game.

Rashean Mathis deserves at least some consideration.

only for that 3rd spot. and yes, he definitely is deserving of consideration for that as well.
the thing to me is that no CBs other than Asomugha and Bailey really stand out. like those two are on another level as opposed to the rest of the CBs around the NFL.

Champ gets beat quite a bit throughout his career for being labeled as a 'shutdown' corner.
Still one of the best in football (I'd put him on my list of the top 3), but probably a bit overrated at the same time.
