Darius Washington was just waived by the Bulls. Too bad for him. I was hoping he'd stick this year. :(

He still might. Some other team might take a flyer on him.

Was there a consensus on why we cut him? He became a ball hog on the Toros? He was un-coachable? I was never sure what happened once he went up to Austin.

I really like him last year, I never really got the full story of why he was cut. That would suck if he was un-coachable or a ball hog as mentioned above, he seemed like a Spur in the few glimpses we had of him

I was never sure what happened once he went up to Austin.I can only conclude that that was the general consensus because he wasn't developing a whole lot in Austin and was being pretty effectively neutralized by disciplined teams like the Utah Flash. The game against them stands out in my mind as one where Darius was thoroughly figured out yet he would never change his game. I think he was called for four charges that game.

bummer, I thought he ran the Spurs offense ok when he was allowed to do so last year.

He scored 16 points in 26 minutes, not too bad.

He was cut from Greek League team Aris because he would not listen to coaches and he would always try to take ball by himself and go 1 verse 5 and try to win game. Almost always this end up in charging foul or turnover. He lose very big contract with Aris because of this. And this season Aris is not even in Euroleague but in second level Eurocup.

Aris managers cut him because they not believe he was even good enough for team to win at Eurocup level with him as starting point guard. So how can he expect to make Bulls roster then?

What I see from him in 2 years he play with Greek clubs PAOK and Aris is that he start the year very strong. Seems like talented player and then somehow after first few games he start to suck really bad. Then is just game after game of turnovers, charges on the offense and hogging the ball. Then comes arguments with the coaches. Aris coach from last year even say "I do not know what is wrong with Washington it seem there is nothing I can do with him, he will not listen to anything".

So this is probably reason he keep getting cut from teams. He is talented player but terrible basketball IQ and poor attitude, very immature player.

he showed his lack of intelligence when he left college early

Yeah he had a nice string of games with the Spurs that year but from what I saw of his play it seemed he was almost never as "in control" as you'd want you PG to be. Didn't ever really have a handle on the game and while he knocked down some threes that year you could tell he wasn't a shooter either.

Parker (and also Manu I guess) drives all the time but is very good at staying in control minimising his charging fouls and turnovers.

In other news, former Spurs Linton Johnson III and Dermarr Johnson were both cut by the Wizards today.

no surprise, the bulls are deep at the PG position.

If only he had made that one dunk last year, things might be different.

what he ran was.....right by all his options straight to the basket trying to score all the time...not that thats a bad thing...but it can be in certain situations...couple that w/ the REST of his game not being what it needs to be and thats what happens...repeatedly cut

Washington sign contract with Ural Great which is Russian League club. They are also in second level of Europe the Eurocup. He will have qualify round with them and if win his team can stay in second level or if lose will be relegate to level 3 and play this year in Eurochallenge level which is third level in Europe.

Ural Great is rich Russian club with big budget so he probably get big contract.

I felt pretty comfortable when the ball was in his hands. He didn't seem like he was trying to do too much or whatever.

Darius has a Macedonian passport to help increase his opportunities

Ural Great have cut Darius Washington from team. They were eliminate from second level of Europe the Eucocup and relegated down to third level. Washington play poorly for them there.

In Russia Super League he have been play badly and the team is disappoint with him and feel he is not worth his contract so they have release him.

Maybe he will try come back to Spurs as 3rd string PG?

If he feels he has enough money, he might come back to the D-League. He still has a way to go before sticking with an NBA squad.

Another waste of time and roster space. How he made it playing in a spurs uniform is beyond me.
