I have called Dish several times now and I keep getting the same song and dance...The NBA and Dish are still negotiating a new deal. Now we are about a week away and I am getting a little nervous.

Anyone else getting this? DirecTV customers?

Don't worry. Over here, Comcast won't subscribe you until after the season started. But they always have the preview for the first couple of weeks, so you won't miss a game.

Yeah I know...but I have always been able to get in early, so not being able to is kinda freaking me out. The thought of not having the Spurs is.....well.....I'd rather not think about it.

I don't blame you for worrying. I hope it comes through.

I just moved and was going to switch to a different cable carrier because their prices were better than what I'm paying. Then I discovered they didn't have LP or NBA TV. So much for that choice. :lol I've got to have the games, I don't know what I'd do if I could only catch the national ones.

I have Sudden Link (formerly Cox Com.), and they haven't had League Pass for a few years. I called today after remembering about the negotiations, but they still don't have it and have no idea when they will.

I remember sending an email to the NBA trying to see if I could subscribe to League Pass just to get the games on broadband. They wouldn't let me (WTH?).

I hate Sudden Link. They're a lousy little company. I have to go to a sports bar just to watch the games.

Dish plays hardball when they are negotiating, and usually manage to make it look like the other guy's fault. My prediction is that Dish will show you the games even if there isn't a deal by the start of the season, or they'll tell you that's what they want to do. At worst you'll miss a game or two, and the complaints to the NBA will be so loud someone tey'll cave.

Time Warner does not have league pass yet either.

Dish advertises it for like 99 bucks. I may have to order it just to get that price locked in.

Not true. I already paid for mine. $169.99 (I am in San Diego though, not TX)

You may be right, because they do not have it in Texas as of yet.

SFIE is ordering it today, but given the month-long fight to get Comcast to replace the wire that got mowed over because they couldn't bury it properly, and the subsequent month-long fight to get Comcast to bury the new replaced wire that is STILL ONGOING (FUCK YOU COMCAST), I have little hope of being able to see it before the wire gets cut again.

Much rather watch it on my TV. I only watch online if there is absolutely no other alternative.

If I got league pass, would I get local games, or only non local?

You're in LA, right?

I'm in OC, I get everything with LP. The Lakers and Clippers always air on the local channels, everything else is on LP.

And, like benefactor mentioned, there's a free preview this week. You can see how it works.

We see everything but the Houston/SA games. And those air locally.

What city do you live in? I work for comcast and it shouldn't be that hard to help you.

$84 vs $150

Hook the PC up to the hdtv via HDMI and it's better than what the cable system gives ya

Houston.

You wouldn't think so, would you?

And yet . . .

this issue dates back to July, when the cable was inadvertently dug up by the grounds crew in our complex, and subsequently mowed over. It took multiple phone calls, three technicians, two missed days of work to get it replaced. The last guy didn't bury it properly, and it was mowed over again about a month later.

It took three weeks to get replaced. We had an appointment the day the hurricane hit, were told 5 times that the technician would be there only to have him not show (and there was no phone call to us. We were simply informed when we called AGAIN that our appointment had been rescheduled to Tuesday). Nobody showed up on Tuesday, and we were told we'd been rescheduled to two weeks later. No one is calling us to inform us of these scheduling changes mind you, we're calling them to ask where the hell the technician is.

After numerous complaints I get referred to a customer care person who assures me it will all be fixed by Friday. I get a call Monday confirming my appointment in two weeks and that was the extent of the care I received. The technician did show (I had to take the morning off of work to wait for them) and had the cable replaced, but did not have the equipment to bury it.

We were told we didn't have to be there for that, and we went on vacation. We got a call while on vacation from the crew asking to be let in to our complex. We gave them the footpath codes, but the gate is electronic entry only, and they left. The next technician had the same issue, and we told them we would be home Wednesday and they said they'd come by, but didn't. We called and scheduled an appointment for Saturday, and they didn't show. We were then told it was rescheduled, but it was ok, because we didn't need to be there anyway. That pattern has repeated every Saturday for the last four weeks - no one shows up or we call to find out we've been mysteriously rescheduled to a random day in the middle of the week. Sunday, a tech showed up (?), and he didn't have the proper equipment to bury the wire.

So it's still sitting there, exposed, unburied, waiting to be cut. Despite all our attempts to resolve the issue, they seem utterly unwilling to help. You'd think they were paying us to use the service, instead of the other way around.

And yet . . .

I'm sorry for your trouble, but one good thing has come out of your nightmare with Comcast. Following this horror story in SFIE's blog has been hysterical.

Wow. That's impressive. I'm getting that. I've got a PC in the living room; I'll just watch the games through it on my TV. And if I cancel Dish network I can afford it. :)

Yeah. I wanted to know cause I feel like getting it, and I have to switch to antenna for road games(we don't have Kcal on our sattelite)

That would be good if I had a TV with an HDMI input. My TV is kinda old.

Besides that, there is a lot of times I have other commitments during the games so I need to be able to DVR them. I am about to call again to check on it.

Just FYI, the broadband version supposedly archives the games. Howevuh, I just went opened it and last night's Bulls/Bucks game isn't there, so I guess only some of the games will be archived.

Yeah...I trust my DVR far more than I trust NBA.com. I called again and got the same song and dance. I did notice that the Bulls/Bucks game was showing on one of my League Pass channels and I was able to watch it last night....so I guess the online preview coincides with the satellite/cable preview. Here's to hoping they get things resolved before that is over.

Considering NBA.com didn't even update the links for audio league pass the last time, I understand why you wouldn't trust them.
