FANTASTIC NEWS!

Welcome back, Jay--you have been missed!

Does anyone remember Jay's famous statement when the Spurs won their first championship? Something along the lines of "...the pride of the great Southwest."

I taped that radio broadcast and have it in a box somewhere.

The pride of the great lonestar state.

That used to be what was said at the beginning of every Spurs radio broadcast back in the day.

"The pride of the great lone star state, the san antonio spurs, are on the air!"

Your political 550 thing was weak sauce this morning.

"He mentions middle class, he cares about us!" :lmao Props for calling out the neo-cons to an audience who probably never thinks about them, but you brought nothing more to the table than your average run of the mill liberal/Obama supporter. :toast

In fact that was his tribute to Terry Stembridge

I've always enjoyed his broadcast, which was the only way I kept up with games yrs ago due to work. He definitely had an ego and was very rude to callers, which was very annoying.

Only after the 5 millionth question of "

"Why is Steve Kerr not playing"

Seriously, asking the guy to be nice after the same stupid question over and over is too much to ask.

Howard could not carry Terry's microphone.

Now that Avery Johnson is going to work with ESPN I wonder if the Zones Dawn Murphy will admit to AJ she wanted his jersey taken down off the AT&T rafters!

Terry Stembridge nearly beat the crap out of that embarrassing fossil Johnny Most on the air. How bad-ass is that?

He ended every broadcast with "There will be another night", which still the greatest signature line I've ever heard. He would have been a lock for the Hall of Fame as a broadcaster if he had just stayed with the Spurs.

Good article by Gary DeLaune on Terry:
