Sanikidze team Tartu Rock was eliminate in Europe second level division Eurocup after they lose series to Austrian champion Allianz Swans. Eurocup is second level competition in Europe and now Tartu must be relegate down to third level of competition in Europe and must play now in the Eurocup Challenge.
In first game Sani have

4-5 FT
0-1 3 PT
12 points
6 rebounds
1 assist
1 steal
2 turnovers
In second game he have
1-3 FG
2-2 FT
1-1 3 PT
5 points
2 rebounds
1 assist
His team is then lose series and is relegate to third division of Europe.
So now we will see how he do in Europe's third level.

Sanikidze has been terrible so far. I live in Tartu and have been to the games. Maybe he just hasnt found his role yet, but its hard to see what his role should be- he hasnt a very good outside shot, he is quite skinny so he doesnt have the tools to play under the basket...
But i still hope that he will reach the expectations we had in him.
If you want to keep track with his performance then visit this page - http://www.bbl.net/
Its in english.

Why do you keep posting this in the Spurs forum? We don't need or want this loser.

Austria has a basketball team? And they won?
This level of competition must REALLY suck.

The Austrian team consisted of 5 americans and two serbians (or smth). they played almost all the minutes.

When I was living in Germany I think I played for a 3rd division team.

Thanks, weltmann, for the update.

Ahh...I just looked that up. 2004 huh? Probably another in the line of Euros that we will never see. From what welmann said, we aren't missing much.

I don't give a shit about any of those Euros unless they're coming to join this team. Frankly, I'm sick of hearing about them. Wake me up when there is real news to report.

You're not. Whoever did the scouting in Europe the year The Spurs drafted Sanikidze should be fired. He's a scrub in Europe, imagine what NBA level would do to him. :wakeup
However...(I might as well put this in this thread because I don't feel like searching for one of the hundred Splitter threads on this board)...I got a chance to see Splitter live tonight when TAU visited Ljubljana for the 2nd leg of Euroleague season and I must say he's a beast. That paint is impenetrable when he's in there. The boxscore says he finished with 3 blocked shots, but from the stands it looked like he had at least 8 or 9 that's how good his defense was. He also had 16 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists in 21 minutes of play on 5/7 shooting and 6/7 from the charity stripe. His overall ranking was game-high 24.
And TAU won 91-90 in the last seconds of the game.:depressed
