:lmao

And Palin officially has no credibility. At all. Period. Zero.

I will never, ever support a platform this lady is a part of. She is a complete disgrace, and she is fucking STUPID. There's no other way to put it.

Damn, whottt has to be against autism research now.

His imaginary girlfriend sure isn't making it easy for him.

http://thinkprogress.org/2008/10/24/palin-fruit-flies/

This morning, Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) gave her first policy speech urging the federal government to fully fund the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), “a law ensuring services to children with disabilities throughout the nation.” In the speech, Palin cited the need to do more for children with disabilities such as autism:

For many parents of children with disabilities, the most valuable thing of all is information. Early identification of a cognitive or other disorder, especially autism, can make a life-changing difference.

Palin claimed that the amount that Congress spends on earmarks “is more than the shortfall to fully fund IDEA.” She then ridiculed some of the projects — such as “fruit fly research” — saying they have little or no value:

Where does a lot of that earmark money end up anyway? […] You’ve heard about some of these pet projects they really don’t make a whole lot of sense and sometimes these dollars go to projects that have little or nothing to do with the public good. Things like fruit fly research in Paris, France. I kid you not.

Watch it:

Palin did not specify what fruit fly research earmark she was referring to (presumably a grant for olive fruit fly research), but she is apparently unaware that scientific research with fruit flies has led to valuable discoveries that have boosted autism research, as a study at the University of North Carolina demonstrated last year:

[S]cientists at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine have shown that a protein called neurexin is required for..nerve cell connections to form and function correctly.

The discovery, made in Drosophila fruit flies may lead to advances in understanding autism spectrum disorders, as recently, human neurexins have been identified as a genetic risk factor for autism.

Fortunately for Sarah, she didn't stick her foot in her mouth.

Unfortunately for her, she continued pushing, sucking, and managed to wind up with a Nike in her fucking stomach.

Don't quote this: whottt will now declare that the McCain campaign is now intentionally trying to sabotage Palin's political future.

No wonder they won't let her talk to the press. She is a nightmare. Is she even aware that we have an international bee crisis and studying the pollination effects of other insects is of extreme importance? Even barring the autism element here (which is damning) there should have been a red flag in the back of her head that something like this could have to do with pollination research and kept her mouth shut.

Pfff. Like he doesn't read every comment you make anyway. Clicking "show" about 50 times per day is well worth the self-assurance to Whottt that he is superior in every aspect and can prove it by not paying attention to you.

BR's take will consist of some non sequitur YouTube with a black person using racial epithets for black people.

Just another dumbfuck, greedy, vicious Repug campaigning to her equally dumbfuck choir to line her own pockets.

Her autism research will be expanded to include Down's, so taxpayers subsidize her own rich kid's care, while McBottomGun's health care leaves millions of poor kids without basic health care.

Well it's mainly directed at Whottt, since he seems to think she's the best candidate out of the four. But really, how can ANYONE support Palin in full knowing that she thinks stuff like this? It would be fine if she didn't bandy about her ignorance for all to see... the way she displays it is horrible.

The "let's sit down at the kitchen table" crap gets on my nerves....she uses her ignorance like it's a good thing

How much intelligence does it take to know you will not increase tax revenue by increasing capital gains tax but doing it anyways?

Obama could be Einstein but if people don't like what he stands for they will support the other side.

And of course, rather than addressing the thread topic, you have to change the subject. Because that's how impossible it is to defend Palin.

Things like fruit fly research in Paris, France. I kid you not.

.
Any mention of anything French by many on the Right is xenophobic code for
"crazy wine-drinking, beret-wearing, art-film commies."

During that whole ridiculous Boycott-French-wine/ eat Freedom Fries time in our country a few years ago, one of my dumber co-workers let the rest of know that when Americans speak French, they are just being pretentious. Later that week, two guys from France were visiting our workplace, and she started on a rant about how ridiculous they were to speak French in America. When informed that they were themselves French and were simply talking to one another in their native language, she paused for a second, and then said... "well, I don't care-- it's still pretentious!"

It's unfortunate that for way too many people in this country, learning foreign languages, traveling to foreign countries for vacation (rather than Disneyland), or even reading books by non-Americans , is seen not as a good thing, but rather as a character flaw. Thomas Jefferson would be horrified.

Indeed (uh oh! That's a pretentious word! :lol). It's so sad that so many Americans are xenophobic to this extent.

In other news, Kenny Maine is on horse racing right now. Man, did that guy age fast. :wow
