View Full Version : Should MLB use instant replay to correct outs in the field of play?

This does not include balls and strikes. This is about yes or no plays that are not judgment calls. For example: did the player catch the ball before it hit the ground? Did the throw beat the runner on a force play? Was the tag applied before the runner touched the base?

Yes, this subject was brought again to the front of my mind after last night with the incorrect call at first base. No, as a Phillies fan, I am not bitter about the play. These things happen in every single baseball game, every single baseball series, and in the long run they tend to average out. However, we now have the technology to correct these mistakes nearly instantly; should we?

I guess this tremendous turnout on this thread is what I get for posting a baseball topic on a basketball board. :lol Anyway, like I said, these things tend to even themselves out in the long run; the Rays got hosed by a bad call in the bottom of the 1st, game 4, where Rollins was clearly tagged trying to get back to 3rd base.

Longoria clearly eliminated that Philly guy

No need to use action replay for that
