Those were Pop's words in response to a question from the media today at the Spurs' Practice Facility. KSAT12 aired the video of Pop's reply to the question posed as to why Desmon Farmer was able to make the cut over one of Pop's draft choices. Pop smirked and retorted:

"Ball go in hole.........muchly!"

What was his answer for why Tolliver made the team?

I didn't see that part of the interview. I had an obstructed view.

Nicely done. :toast

It is a little strange that Pop would say something like that when Farmer scored 2 points in 20 minutes against Miami, when one would think he was still auditioning for the job.

I believe Farmer had already made the team prior to the Miami game, based on Brett Brown's comments in the post-game radio interview. Against the 5 Heat players who had started the game, Farmer was in there in crunch time making the extra pass and playing within the team concept when the Spurs cut into the Heat's lead and then ultimately tied the game. It's clear, though, what Pop thinks of Farmer and what he brings to the team. A 5th wing player that puts the ball in the hole. At .444 Opp FG%, the Spurs will need more scoring punch to out-live the rest of the West.

"Ball go in hole....muchly!"

Hopefully that will be a phrase that can describe the offense this year.

And not the defense.

this is what happens when you go into the wilderness after losing a playoff series.

i think it's fair to say Pop likes his new shooter.

I don't think he took that many shots to begin with. I would have to go back to the boxscore, but I seem to recall he had only 2 shot attempts up until the 4th quarter. He did get some assists and rebound while he was out there though.

This only reinforces my belief that at some point this offseason the pod people got a hold of the Spurs coach, and that is actually Bizarro Pop on the sidelines worrying about the scoring and adding young guys to the roster.
