The Knicks have released P Ewing Jr. I have seen the guy play and to me he looks like a very raw Ron Artest. He has great size, body control and can defend several spots.

Would he be a good pickup if it means dumping someone else on the roster?
A 24 yr old wing who can defend and is improving as a shooter...a young Bowen in the making?

Something about DROB4EVER asking for Patrick Ewing Jr. seems full of iron to me.

I just would like to have one guy on our team that has a better vertical leap than I do!:rollin

I'd go so far as to say it's even a bit ironic.

He is nothing like Ron Artest.

He is nothing like Ron Artest.

Go view Artests rookie year, he is very similar on the defensive end. Remember this guy got drafted and wasnt even a starter at G Town. He could be a very good defender able to play wings and Pfs.

Ron Artest is a very robotic player on the offensive side of the ball even after being in the leauge 8 years. Ewing is very nimble. Just thought he may be a guy to take a look at cause Farmer looks like players we already have in triplicate!

Hopefully he is not illiterate like his old man. There are enough of those in San Antonio already.

I just as soon have Hairston back in the fold.

If not him, Linton Johnson III

I think Pop would be more likely to sign Ewing Sr.

Making fun of someone's grammar usage isn't a niacin thing to do Ed.

There will B 12 players on the final roster but I don't think Ewing will be one of them. He might benefit from some time in the D League, but I haven't seen anything that makes me think he could make a pro tein.

Coby Karl is a better prospect than him.

No. Seriously. I'm an IU alumn and have followed Ewing since he was a Hoosier, back in the Mike Davis days. He's mobile, energetic, and hustles, but by no means is he anywhere close to as talented as Artest is. I see what you're saying -- Artest is a banger and very physical -- but Ewing has nothing like his all-round skills.

Why must we go after every young player who is waived?

He is nothing like Ron Artest.

Agreed.

Although it wouldn't shock me if he became a Udonis Haslem type. Good athlete, high energy, good wingspan, showed just enough range in college that he could probably develop a reliable 10-12 footer with work.

I'm not sure I'd be willing to drop any of the current 15 for him, but I think he'll find a home somewhere in this league eventually.
