Have any data to support that contention?

Remember the 1964 civil rights act? Republicans in both houses supported it more than democrats, and some democrats tied to kill it. Not republicans. Look at which party has KKK members serving... Democrats...

Republicans have changed, a lot. So you can't compare Lincoln's party to what is around today.

Yes it has changed. There were the northern Republicans anti slavery and the southern pro slavery Republicans back in Lincolns day. The party was split along geographic lines.
