As a Dallas Maverick fan, am I wrong to like a Spurs player?
The reason I ask Is because after meeting Slomo a HUGE Rasho fan, and also is from Rasho's country? It made me feel proud to see such a patriotic display from someone in a long time.
After all how many of you have said the Pledge of allegiance in your own home?
I am a Huge Rasho fan now thanks to Slomo. Also I have always been a Huge Duncan fan since Wake, So is it wrong since I am a fan of another team to like them two?
Or are some of you a fan of Dirk, maybe Lebron James? Do I have to only like players on my team? Or do you guys just keep it to yourselves?
After all how many you liked to watch Dr"J" or MJ, in action and are Spur fans today?
Thank you for any replies.

So if I was once a Spur fan like your saying? The I can be a Rasho fan since I quailfy cuz I am really a Spur fan from the get go?
You can't have it both ways, Calling someone a Bandwagon fan is only good for me rooting for the mighty Mavericks, How can I be a band wagon fan if it is the same wagon you claim I jumped off from?

You think I will listen to someone who goes to a website and begs people to talk to them?
You act like you don't like any other player in the NBA which is BS but from the looks of you having to curse to make your point I can see what I am dealing with already so carry on. Don't worry If i think you your getting out of hand I will not hesitate for a moment to change your diaper on the WWW,
In fact I look forward to it since I need to work on some new redneck material anyway, So go ahead and get comfortable and tell the Wife Errrrrrr step sister to record Max X for you your going to be on the web TV for awhile.
I will wait. You might want to grab another quart of Bush beer from the ice chest but save a few for your pal Larry since there is a huge NASCAR race this Sunday,

I guess since AJ is a Maverick now you Spur fans hate his Guts? Is that how it goes in this town?Actually, I started to hate AJ after his head swelled to 10 times it's size after the 99 championship. Being the Mavs head coach just makes the hate sweeter. In no way should AJ (the J stands for journeyman) have his jersey retired by the Spurs.

That is pure blasphemy after the man put a ring on your spurs finger after 25 years you dare say such words? I don't care if his head gets the size of Uranus, He was the heart and soul of The San Antonio spurs and i will not sit here and have you bad mouth him again,

What has DEl Negro won? Funny you never told anyone how bad AJ sucked before, Nice to know you kept it a secret till he was out of town.
AJ was more that the heart and soul. He was the Little General. He called plays and he would get in the face of David Robinson and tell him to pull his Little Mermaid loving head out of his Bible quoting ass and play defense.
So since I just happen to be in the room while your choking on a hot wing and I apply the hemlock maneuverer and save your life I am not worthy to be your friend?
What makes a hero in your eyes? And why do you hate AJ so? Did he not sign an autograph one day? Or is it because he is Black?

then David & Duncan is WHAT?
David was the spiritual leader, the old veteran that told the players this could be my last year, he gave the team reason to win, he also prayed and kept Drugs and Satan from the locker room. You notice Peter Holt did not have a drinking problem when David was around, They all played a part.
Tim Duncan was the missing piece, he was the young Talent, he was the legs and the strong back that David had lost years before, he was the super star red Macomb's never got to see on his team. Even Sean Elliott was the Luck of the team His Memorial Day shot was seen around the world, That was the day the Spurs knew this is our year.
This topic is not about spur players. It's about a player in the NBA you might like from a diffrent NBA Team, but would never say so cuz can see already the response I am getting.
And I don't blame you, It takes a special person to speak the truth.
And Man up and post about it.

because i know the Spurs was better than NY. Ewing was injured. Duncan & David were healthy. Let them play game 6, it would still be the Spurs winning the title.

and funny of you to say I have a problem, bec. I don't drink, smoke or take drugs. Sorry for that. :cryAnd i don't gamble. Actually, I'm pretty boring.
And I can assure you if AJ will return to S.A., though I can't see that happening, I will not change my screenname and I will stay away, and find some other team to cheer on.
I'll just pray Duncan will not be on the team when that time comes, and let's see if AJ can bring that title again to S.A.

you gotta give it up for AJ though, he was alot of the fire on the team even if he wasn't the most talented....and he knew how to take it to the cup and get on people's assses when they weren't doing what they were supposed to.....

"Actually, I started to hate AJ after his head swelled to 10 times it's size after the 99 championship. Being the Mavs head coach just makes the hate sweeter. In no way should AJ (the J stands for journeyman) have his jersey retired by the Spurs."
I just have to respond to this post because I totally agree with it. I completely understand. AJ was (to me, so I can't claim to represent all fans) a grandstander. He was efficient as the Spurs' PG, but not the greatest PG that ever played the game. His voice annoys me - that terrible whine, twang, or whatever... Do I miss AJ? No! Not for a minute! Do I want him to be a winning coach of the Mavs? Are you nuts???!!!!
Just because he once played for the Spurs doesn't mean that we are forever forced to be his greatest fans. Antonio Daniels went, Darrell Anderson went, Jason Hart went...we could keep naming Spurs we loved who are now playing for other teams. What if we kept on championing those ex-Spurs who have their heads screwed on right - that is, all out to win.
Get real, you guys! AJ can broadcast his love for San Antonio until the cows come home. But, where is he? In Dallas! He's an okay guy, but not the most important PG we've ever had or will ever have.
I'm just one of those people who loved AJ when he was a Spur, but couldn't care less about him now that he's with the Mavericks.

To my fellow enlightened AJ haters...
Response # 1 that you give to someone who pulls the lame "but AJ hit the shot to win us a title" card...be sure and point out to them that he hit that shot with 50 seconds remaining, in a series we were up 3-1 on an 8 seed.
Response # 2 that you give is...Stephen Jackson. He hit the shot that put us ahead for good when we won the 03 title. That's right...a career journeyman, in his first season as a starter, equalled AJ's crowning glory. I guess that means we need to retire SJax's jersey as well.
Response # 3 is another name...Manu Ginobili....yes, the same guy that wasn't good enough to wear AJ's jersey...the same guy of whom classy AJ said, "let him make his own number" after learning of the team ripping Manu's jersey from him...
Manu hit the final shots in our 03 title...actually he hit the final 4 or 5....A rookie, "not good enough" to wear AJ's jersey, also equalling AJ's career crowning glory...and making AJ eat his own scrub words in the process...as a rookie...LOL!
AJ did one thing well...he nutrode. He might even be the greatest nutrider in NBA history, but he should never be confused with someone who helped make it easier to win a title. He was something that had to be overcome. And even the great Duncan and Robinson could only do that once. Thank god we didn't play a team that forced AJ to shoot...like Utah...or we'd have never won that first title.
The only credit AJ should get for that title is getting Mario Elie to sign with the Spurs...and I think AJ should be rewarded for that...he should get a front row seat at Mario's( a real Spur who never badmouthed the franchise or it's players) jersey retirement, if that should ever happen, and that's the closest he should ever get to having his jersey retired.
