Chargers should have Boston, Dwight backChargers should have two top receivers back Sunday

October 2, 2003

SAN DIEGO (AP) -- The San Diego Chargers should have their top two receivers back for Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

David Boston, who served a one-game suspension last week for conduct detrimental to the team, went through another practice Thursday with no setbacks. Before being suspended, he had been slowed by a bruised heel.

And Tim Dwight, who missed last week's game with a strained knee, also practiced for the second straight day.

But Eric Parker, another wide receiver, has an inner-ear infection that kept him out of practice.

``It just depends on how he responds,'' coach Marty Schottenheimer said of Parker's availability for Sunday. ``This could go away in 12 hours, 24 hours or 48 hours. I think he will be ready for the game.''

The news wasn't as encouraging along the offensive line.

Right tackle Solomon Page didn't practice again because of a sprained ankle. Schottenheimer didn't sound optimistic about him playing Sunday. If he can't go, he would be replaced by undrafted rookie Phil Bogle.

Others not expected to play are tight ends Josh Norman (hamstring) and Stephen Alexander (groin), wide receiver Reche Caldwell (wrist) and right tackle Vaughn Parker (knee).
