Maybe I'm being too hard on him since he's a rookie, but right now I'm happy if he gets the ball past half court without turning it over. Ya, he's a long term project, but the jump to the NBA must be scary for him. Man, I'm tired of watching phoenix go into the hole or deeper into the hole every time they bench nash.

Nah. this kid actually looks like he will be pretty good once he gets comfortable with the new rules and system. The biggest problem is your second units basketball IQ is not very high.

I don't think it should be that bad. Diaw, Hill? They should have some IQ. Barbosa makes me wonder sometimes. I wish they could have traded him when his stock was higher because I don't think he fits in this system.

I really wanted to watch Dragic play on television yesterday night but could not stomach sitting through any more of the Suns ( Shaq esp) this week.

From what i read from Suns forums he is not as bad as the scorebox might indicate.

He runs the team well and plays hard D. Havent watched him yet.... It was just 2 games though.

Three seasons ago this guy played in what was basically a high school gym, last year he played in Euroleague for the first time, this year he's playing alongside Shaq, Amare, Nash and Grant Hill against the likes of Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Chris Paul...of course he's a bit intimidated. It's been two regular season games...he'll be fine in a couple of months as long as he keeps getting minutes like he has in these two games.

This is the one plus of Dan being gone, perhaps other players will get more of a chance to develop.

I watched him and he does some very good things. He is pretty smooth, an above average passer and he plays composed for a new guy. He was in during crunch time and helped and even made a nice floater in the lane to inch the Suns closer to taking the lead. Overall I would give him a B for his efforts.

I think the better question is "Was Nash scared last night"? :)

Dragic was kicking ass, the Suns came up within 5.

Then Nash comes in with 3 straight turnovers and killed the comeback.

Didn't think Dragic looked scared at all, not even nervous. He didn't play flawlessly, but none of his problems looked to be attributable to nerves.

He is capable of being backup point guard in the NBA. he should have enough talent for such role of 15 minute per game.

Nice to see, I was busy worshipping the porcelain goddess during most of the NO game which in hindsight looks like a good thing considering the final score. :-) So I probaby missed some of the good play he did. In that San Antonio game I pretty much just saw him bring the ball up pass it to someone else then that was it.

Rafer Alston does this his whole career and is considered good by Rockets fans and coaches :lol

I take it some Spurs fans were hoping to get dragic judging by the interest in this rookie.

No, but naturally Spurs fans will watch because he was involved in a trade. We know the pick actually meant nothing to the Spurs.

No, you started the thread, most people on this board are Spurs fans, and the Spurs played the Suns, so we were watching.

I left out the few started by suns fans.

Three of those were started as news items (one by me), and the other was started by fans of Slovenian players. I'm unsure how discussion about an NBA player means that the Spurs wanted him. KBP came in and said that Dragic would never sign with the Suns, there was some question about that and I posted up the news item when I heard on the radio, mostly just to rub KBP's face in it. As DPG said, the Spurs fans are slightly more aware of him because his name was involved in a draft day trade. Some of the more ignorant fans think that the Spurs wanted him on the team just because they picked him for Phoenix. That said, I wouldn't be shocked if he'd been on the Spurs' radar at that point if they hadn't been able to get a backup for Parker earlier in the draft.
