I am just going to grade the teams that have some chance to make some noise come May....because I do have a life, you know....and Kori does not pay me to do this stuff. :)
1. Suns 41-12 A+ Best starting 5 in the NBA.The bench improved. co-favs to win it all. MVP favorite, Nash is on fire lately with at least 12 assists in last 11 games.
2. Spurs 41-12 A+ Best player, best coach, best defense, best homecourt, best bench. co-favs to win it all.
3. SuperSonics 35-15 A Biggest surprise of the year, nobody in here picked this team to make playoffs, much less win division. Great shooting team from every position on the floor, defense is a question mark.
4. Heat 40-14 A Most dominant player, a star in the making. Questionable record against the West, but Sunday's win over SA was a huge confidence builder.
5. Mavericks 34-16 A- Great offense, improved defense, home record not what it has been in previous years, but great road team.
6. Rockets 32-21 B+ Late bloomers, hottest team the last month (15-4 since Jan. 7) Have a tough schedual down the home stretch though, that will test them.
7. Pistons 32-19 B+ Also late starters, could match last year's finishing kick and catch Miami. They are still the champs, so are dangerous team and need to be respected.
8 Bulls 26-23 B+ Don't laugh. This is my Dark horse team to make some noise in the playoffs. Horrible start on the season, (0-9) Top defensive team in the East, they have a great coach, young players and are hungry. They have beaten big time teams and do not appear to be sliding backwards.
9. Kings 33-20 B Injury problems again have caused some problems, but still a dangerous team at home.
10. Grizzlies 30-23 B Coach Fratello is doing a fine job since he took over the team. Have missed Gasol, but once he is back, this team can really make a good finishing kick to make playoffs as a top 5 seed.
11 (10) Cavaliers B 30-20 Biggest cash cow for the NBA...must see tv in Lebron James, who could win MVP.
12. Wizards 30-20 B- Slumping lately, need Hughes to get healthy to have a chance to win any series. But they have been one of the biggest surprises, a pleasant one I might add, this year.
13. Lakers 26-24 B- this team has surprised me with their grit. kudos to them for having a winning record.
Well, let me give out some Failing grades too.
