Europe might pick up some big name retiring NBA players.

Pierce to retire in Greece? (http://thehoop.blogspot.com/2008/11/pierce-to-retire-in-greece.html)

Paul Pierce gave an interview to greek newspaper Eleftheros Tipos and he said there that the prospect of ending his career in Greece is a thought that occured to him.

Pierce said that he has considered the possibility of playing in Greece when his contract ends with the Boston Celtics. He said there are quite a few greek people in Boston and also in the staff of the team and that he is really fond of Greece and travelling. If there is an offer from Greece he will consider it very seriously and he joked saying that if they don't want him there he will go somewhere else in Europe.

The Boston Celtics will be on the top of his priorities when it comes to renewing his contract but he said that he won't examine any possible offers from Greece or the rest of Europe.

Economic Realities for next season is that with our shrinking dollar and recession, the ticket prices will be lower which means lower gate receipts and also less money for NBA franchises. If the Euro continues to run higher than the dollar by 40 percent, then yeah, watch some of our NBA stars run over to Europe.

Is not just him. It was report that both he and Ray Allen have been talks with owners of Panathinaikos about both sign with team when contracts end.

For PAo fan is not so exciting they will be old by then but our owners is desperate to want to have good signings of big NBA names because Olympiacos owner has already tell Lebron he will get $50 million per year from Olympiacos.

Even though is doubtful will happen Olympiacos owners really have made this offer.
