View Full Version : My Five Final Reasons Against Obama/Biden

Obama is going to be the next president, so this is just getting stuff off my chest.

5. I'm astonished by their lack of knowledge of history.

Biden not knowing Hoover was President during the Crash of 1929 is despicable. Then making up a story that Roosevelt got on Television.... Unacceptable ignorance IMO.

Barack and his "bomb that fell on Pearl Harbor" and Americans liberated Aushwitz.

People who don't know history are doomed to repeat it.

4. The 95% of people will get tax cuts lie. Tell it like it is Barack. More han 40% of people will receive a welfare check. It's redistribution, why lie?

3. throwing his mother under the bus. Michele Obama not being proud of her country. Rezco, Wright, Ayers, etc...

2. His radical views on Abortion. Dude called babies punishment.

1. Entitlements are going to bankrupt this country and Obama is going to add fuel to that flame.

Any common sense tells you taxes are going up the next few years. Deficits and debt are just skyrocketing with no end in sight.

This will happen regardless of who wins tomorrow and the reason is George the Chimp Bush who more than doubled the size of govt and it's debt in just 8 years. The guy left the next President with an ugly federal balance sheet which is going to have to be cleaned up with higher taxes any way you friggin slice it.

You don't finance a doubling of the government with one of the largest tax cuts ever.

It's Chimp Economics. We'll be paying the price for decades for Bush's incompetence, stupidity, and stubbornness.

It'd be nice to pass a law where a minimum level of IQ is necessary before one can run for President in light of the Bush fiasco.

Couric: And when it comes to establishing your worldview, I was curious, what newspapers and magazines did you regularly read before you were tapped for this to stay informed and to understand the world?

Palin: I've read most of them, again with a great appreciation for the press, for the media.

Couric: What, specifically?

Palin: Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me all these years.

Couric: Can you name a few?

Palin: I have a vast variety of sources where we get our news, too. Alaska isn't a foreign country, where it's kind of suggested, "Wow, how could you keep in touch with what the rest of Washington, D.C., may be thinking when you live up there in Alaska?" Believe me, Alaska is like a microcosm of America.

The 03 cuts increased the GDP, but that's owing in part to the fact that we were coming out of recession and a dip in revenues after the 01 tax cuts. The cuts may not have decreased revenue, but they very well may have generated less revenue than would have been generated without them.

pre-911 and I have already explained it to you. I thought her quote about media criticism endangering her 1st Amendment Right to free speech was, um, pretty "incredible".

She's whiffed a number of times on the question of what exactly the job of a Vice President is.

I loved Bill Maher's take: "I would never accuse President Bush of being a smart man, but at least on his first day on the job he knew enough to show up to the right building."

please answer one question. how come federal tax revenues increased and reached record highs after the tax cut?

Federal Tax revenues will reach record highs under Obama or McCain. And then other the next President.

The long term trend of the US economy is upwards. It's the best economy in the world and bounces back from recessions and even the occasional depression and resumes it's upwards trend. As a result, the federal tax base should always be going up over time.

To the Bush cuts at hand, Federal Revenue in 2008 will come in around $2.6 Trillion compared to the $2.0 Trillion it was in 2001 when the Bush tax cuts started.

That's a growth rate of about 4% per annum. Not too bad, but for comparison's sake the growth rate was higher in the 1990's in federal revenue was higher than it was post Bush Tax cuts. This was despite taxes going UP across the board in the 90's under Clinton.

There are a host of factors as to why federal revenues have gone up over post 2001. Probably the #1 reason was the very low interest rates that Greenspan pushed through from 02-04 which lasted too long. This spurred economic investment and increased the tax base as corporations grew and enjoyed good times and unemployment fell.

Probably #2 was the housing bubble. Consumer spending soared over the past few years due to the housing bubble and people lived and spent beyond their means. This helped the tax base. As we all know, the gains in the economy from this artificial bubble were temporary and painful when the bubble burst.

The tax cuts did have some impact, but tax cuts are only one variable in the equation.

At the end of the day, technological innovation and worker productivity are the biggest drivers of the economy.

I have no problems with tax cuts but it's fiscally irresponsible and fiscally liberal to cut taxes and simultaneously increase spending and rely on this theory that the economic growth that results as a direct result of the tax cuts will finance everything and lead to a balanced or close to balanced budget. The reason is that there are too many other economic variables which can positively or negatively affect projected federal tax revenue.

Bush was simply a fiscal liberal. The rate of spending growth (8% per annum) under his admin nearly doubled the rate of revenue growth (4% per annum). That's a fiasco. Do you disagree?

Is there a true fiscal conservative out there these days?

2centsworth, your thread was flawed from the beginning. You must not have received the memo that Obama is a flawless deity and He should never be questioned. We must be thankful that His Majesty was considerate enough to lead us. If not for Him, we would plunge into an unimaginable hole from which humanity would never recover. Either repent and join those who have seen the light and realize He is much more than a politician or, as eloquently suggested in this thread, kill yourself.

Thank you.

Stop. Just stop with the exaggerations drama queen.

There are legitimate gripes to be made about Obama and Biden. I doubt many Obama supporters would care if you wanted to start a thread criticizing his tax policies or foreign policies. There is legitimate opposition there that is worthy of debate.

But for some ignorant redneck to come here and trash Biden for fumbling the date of the Stock Market crash while he votes for PALIN who can't even tell America what a Vice President actually does is the HEIGHT of stupidity.

1. Mc Cain is a fucking redneck
2. Palin is err... not smart.

That's only 2 reasons.

And that's enough

"Radical" views on abortion, like the views that the majority of women take to have freedom of their own bodies?

or radical as in his vote regarding partial birth abortions ?

and the exact quote was " I don't want them punished with a baby" - and he was referring to his daughters and i have the " I don't want them punished with a baby" as my ringtone. along with a few other Obama gems -- like his grandpa liberating Auschwitz... the number of states in the union... etc..
