JOSH FUCKING HOWARD!!!!!! GODDAMMIT!!!!

He played exactly one half of one game of his "committed to slashing" promise and is right back to being a dumbass shitty jump shooter.

If this shit continues all year, Donnie Nelson must be fired, considering he could have had Artest for Howard.

Dallas is getting spanked. They look terrible, very sloppy.

monosylab1k
11-03-2008, 09:06 PM
Donnie Nelson should be fired tonight.

For him to whiff so badly on his offseason analysis of Josh Howard is unforgiveable. How much better would the Mavs look right now if Ron Artest was out there instead?

This group of guys 1) overacheived greatly in 2006 which led to unrealistic expectations, and 2) have failed so much together that they embrace failure.

Lets all remember this

Mono's plan this offseason if he was GM

1. Blow this team the fuck up

Donnie Nelson's actual offseason

1. Keep this team of flunkies.
2. Make excuses for Josh Howard.
3. Blame everything on Avery.

Which plan looks better now?

Tomorrow, I encourage all of you to vote monosylab1k for Mavericks GM.

Dirk's a Top 10 player, one of the best PFs in the league. If anything, get rid of Terry, Stackhouse, and Howard, and build around the German.

But it's early in the season, and they have a new coach. We might see a different Mavs team by midseason.

Unfortunately, MarK Cuban things he is every bit as much of a GM that Jerry Jones is, so it's gonna get worse before it gets better. I predict a ten-year period where Dallas will struggle as Cuban plows his way into salary cap hell throwing big money at big names without any rhyme, reason or cohesion.

He was lucky to inherit a guy who knew what he was doing and had a talent for scouting talent and developing it. Nellie might not ever win a championship with his devotion to his principles, but he is a franchise builder. Dallas hasn't had any kind of architect since Nellie left.

Basically every team has cycles, and cycles last about three years. The Mavs basically had two good cycles in a row, the Nash Dirk Finley "Big Three" era, and then the Dirk Josh Avery era. From 90-00 they basically had three bad cycles in a row. I think the Mavs are at the beginning of a bad cycle.

Anyone remember when the mavs were a good team?

They shot the ball well and got all the calls in 2006-2007, but other than that, no defense, no guts, no heart.

Most, if not, all the players on this team need to go

I love Dirk. If it makes sense, keep him. But at some point, you have to do what's best for the franchise. At this point, hitting reset on the playstation is probably the best course of action. How soon can you retool this thing before his contract is up? Not very likely.

they showed plenty of guts and heart when they beat us on our home floor in game 7

It would do Mavs fans well to boycott all Mavs games for the rest of the season.

We were sold a big bag of bullshit this offseason by Donnie Nelson, Mark Cuban, and Rick Carlisle. All three of them promised the fans that Josh Howard had repented of his actions, had a more positive outlook on the season, and was committed to doing the things that made him an All-Star (slashing, defense, hustle) and would never revert to the crap that made us all hate him (step-back jumpers, ballhogging, letting Anderson Varejao lumber right past him for an uncontested dunk).

He did all the right things for one half of the first game of the season, and reverted right back to all his old shitty tendencies.

Mavs fans, don't feel bad if you put faith in this team. You were flat-out LIED TO by the owner, general manager, and head coach. If Josh could only muster 24 minutes of commitment to his new style, then it's obvious that HE NEVER COMMITTED TO THIS TEAM AT ALL. And there's no way you can tell me that the Mavs front office didn't know this all along.

I don't know if this is just the fact that Cuban is too friendly with the players or what, but the Mavs front office knew that Josh Howard was the same dumb asshole that we saw in the Hornets series, and WILLFULLY LIED TO EVERY MAVERICKS FAN by promising a new and improved Josh.

Boycott all Mavericks games and let Mark Cuban know that we aren't buying his bullshit any longer.

dont get me wrong, i hate the mavs, but i just have to strongly disagree. they earned a bit of respect from me when they beat us and went on to the finals.

trading for kidd was the end of them though :lol

I ate a whole $5 pizza from Little Caesar's tonight. I think that's fitting for what I just saw.

You're a pussy if you didn't knock out a bag of Crazy Bread and Crazy Sauce along with it. THAT'S how you do it, son.

As much as Mavs fans will scream to blow the team up, Cuban will never do it.

That's why we'll never win a title until Cuban sells the team. His passion is wonderful and while he's certainly committed to winning, he'll never have the guts to get rid of Dirk or any of his "friends" on the team. Hopefully he has so much fun being miserable with the Cubs that he doesn't have time for the Mavs and dumps them off.

Little Caesar's is like the Hot Pockets of pizza chains - you'll never eat Little Caesars and then immediately afterwards think "I'm really glad I ate that!"
