Too bad we wasted the 1st half with Bonner on him

True, but we have to get it under 15 to drive any momentum. At least Bonner and JV haven't played so far this half.

There's something i don't get....when manu was ok but the rest of the team were injured, this team could get it done, now....
Because Manu is such a great lock down defender and rim protector, with him the Mavs would be shooting 35% instead of 65%.
If Manu played tonight, we might have 10 points more, but probably concede another 10.

bad D but the worst part is how mad it makes me that Manu beat this Mavs team last year with pretty much 0 help. With Tim, Tony, and even a great addition like Mason the spurs can't even keep up.
C'mon farmer give us something!
0 help?

Why did Pop take Farmer out?
I don't udnerstand that move. Farmer can get WHITE HOT. why didn't Pop leave farmer out there. Doesn't Pop remember Farmer's raining of 3's in the 4th quarters of preseason.
Tim also hurt that comeback by throwing a turnover and taking a slightly off balance bank shot that wasn't even close. Had TD scored on those plays it could have been a different ball game.

Ok so I know everybody is all "We suck" because we did suck but I think we have some really good pieces to work with. We are definitely out of wack right now. Really out of wack. But we have some nice pieces. Hill and Mason look like they can contribute.
Well at least our new guys(Mason, Hill, Farmer) all showed that they're worth a roster spot, which coupled with the overall play of the Spurs during the games makes me think that the FO should be able to pull off a trade using one of our veterans.
Also, defensive rotations seem all jacked up; all sorts of horrible mismatches created by our bad rotations. Tony on Dirk, Thomas on Terry...get it together guys...

Well after 3 games I am convinced that Finley should hit that pine, Mason should start and Farmer should eat off the bench minutes until Manu returns. Hill should get more play time as he begins to heal and the Spurs need Dennis Rodman to help them on the boards because team-wise rebounding is killer, expect some moves to address this issue.

well, obviously, oberto is not the savior we thought he was. :lol
I'm not a big Oberto fan, but he frustrated dirk a bit tonight on defense and that's rare for the most part - scrubs usually don't frustrate dirk. He's scrappy and that really is his main talent. Some folks have said it here and I agree - time will show how good this team will be. It's ridiculous to think they'd have chemistry by now - especially since Mason's still learning the system and Pop is still trying out players to fit his rotation (I think he'll still be playing with that for a while.) He hasn't been super effective, but Udoka does seem to have more confidence this year. I've said it before and I'll say it again - Ian is going to help this team much more than many here believe. I can't help but be optimistic.

Well, all in all, the bright spot was Hill in my eyes. Farmer hit a big three. Looks like this season will be quite interesting come the return of Manu, and when Hill beats out Vaughn for backup PG.

3 points from a starting sg and the back-up got 11. Finley is done and needs to play the role of Steve Smith in 2003 (I keep saying this) allow Mason to start and see if Farmer can give you what you signed him for off the bench. Loyalty aside the season can literally go down the toilet if something doesn't change soon. This is not working so let's see what these new guys are going to give to contribute NOW!!!!!

the sad thing is that dallas isn't going to get much better and Spurs are still a work in progress. That's pretty comforting, since we still have Duncan, Parker and Manu getting healthy for the first time in a while.

And you must not give a shit about people less fortunate than yourself ...
Look McCain was going to raise taxes how could he have accomplished anything he promised otherwise?
People are such sheep ... this country is falling 2 shit ...and they fall for the I wont raise taxes crap ...read my lips ...yeah right!!!!
By the way I'm a Cowboys fan and I dont think Spurs should panic and obviously they have a much better coach than the COwboys but i dont think you should take these losses lightly either ...Dallas was playing back 2 back and got blown off their own floor by CAVS ...Spurs should of won ...

Dallas, a team still learning a brand new offensive system, in its 4th game with a brand new coach, and with a rotation in complete flux, isn't going to get much better?
Ok. That sounds like pretty reasonable analysis to me. :lol

I gotta agree with you. Seemed like a pretty silly thing to say. So far the Spurs have lost to 3 teams that really are in flux (Suns, Blazers, Mavs) with new systems, new coaches, and lots of new players, and the Spurs have lost all of them. What's "in flux" about the Spurs exactly I wonder? Seems like it's mostly the Usual Suspects over in San Antonio to me. And maybe that's really the problem: Spurs stayed pretty much the same while the rest of the West upgraded.

Absolutely. The Spurs were just missing the shots that they took, and when you miss the shots that you take you usually lose the games that you play. Additionally, the team that wins the games it plays when it plays those games is usually the one who makes the shots it tries to make during those games.

Spurs fans shouldn't be worried. I don't think the Spurs can get a high seed in the West, and it'll be difficult to win 3 straight road series in the playoffs JUST to get to the Finals... but they'll be a tough out for anyone (I doubt the Spurs miss the playoffs).
As for the Mavs, good night.. Dirk was awesome, Jet was awesome... but let's not get too excited beating a team missing it's second best player... plus we were hot with our jump shots while they were cold... and the night before we looked terrible against Cleveland, just terrible... so who knows.
One annoying thing about this game was just 5 FTA for the Mavs. You NEED more than that period even against a low fouling team like the Spurs. Heck, Dirk himself should be getting to the line 7-8 times per game.
the low FTA's basically confirms that it was just a hot jump shooting night... but the ball movement to create wide open looks was nice.

It's a big deal when you can't play defense. A stop on the defensive end is as good as a made basket.

Great then I am not worried, becuase they are not my only "prayers" I just meant that I think they could do something significant this year. Mason is a good shooter. And Hill was alright. They haven't proved they can play well in the clutch, but I can't wait to see them in a meaningful tight game. Oh and as long as Tim tony and manu are playing together on the same team I still won't be worried.
