Michael Crichton died of cancer at age 66 on election day.

One of the first big names to stand up to "consensus science". He will be missed.

RIP... my favorite author...
And my second favorite passed away not long ago too, Arthur C. Clarke

The guy led an incredibly interesting life. Scientists just this week cloned a mouse that had been frozen after its death, so the whole Jurassic Park scenario looks more plausible than ever.

Eh, he became a paranoid right wing schill (Airframe was an all out joke of an attack on the media and I wasn't even going to waste money on State of Fear, which has been more or less described as a lunatic's rant), but he also wrote some pretty cool shit. Jurassic Park 2 was a damn cool book. Timeline, Amdromeda Strain, Congo, Sphere. Those were all pretty interesting and entertaining reads, even if the same can't be said about their theatrical counter-parts.

He was good while he was still good, R.I.P.

They'd have to get past DNA's half-life.
