SAN ANTONIO — Oklahoma State tied the school record for wins Wednesday as the No. 8 Cowgirls opened play at the Big 12 soccer championship with a 3-0 win over Texas Tech at Blossom Soccer Stadium.
With the win, the eighth-ranked Cowgirls improved to 17-1-2 and advanced to the tournament semifinals, where they will face Colorado on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
The Cowgirls were the aggressor throughout the match as the tournament's top-seeded squad outshot Texas Tech by a 20-3 margin. Each of OSU's All-Big 12 performers — Yolanda Odenyo, Siera Strawser and Kasey Langdon — collected goals in the match.
"Those three have been scoring goals for us all season — we needed them to step up for us again tonight and they did," said OSU head coach Colin Carmichael.
