Why did the Spurs elect to keep Farmer over Hairston?

Hairston's size and his ability to drive to rim would be very useful at this point.

As for Farmer, I think timvp saw a headband and assumed he'd be like S. Jackson. Howver, from what I have seen, Farmer's game is playground-level. Unpolished to a detriment.
