The Milwaukee Bucks are looking for a way to win without their injured superstar.

The San Antonio Spurs just found a victory with one of their top players sidelined.

While Milwaukee would like to have Michael Redd back in uniform on Wednesday night when it hosts the Spurs, San Antonio knows that Tony Parker will be in street clothes for about a month.

In their first game since Parker sprained his left ankle in Friday's 99-83 loss to Miami, the Spurs (2-4) used an 11-0 run to open the fourth quarter to defeat New York 92-80 on Tuesday.

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich went with a makeshift lineup as rookie George Hill scored a season-high 12 points in Parker's point guard role, and Ime Udoka started at the small forward position for Bruce Bowen. It was the first time in 556 games with the Spurs that Bowen had been active but came off the bench.

"Coach says this is the way it is and that's that," Bowen said. "Coaches have a reason for doing those things. It's important for you to have trust in those things that they're trying to get accomplished. I'm happy. I enjoy playing the game. If Pop would let me, I would play 48 minutes."

Udoka missed his first eight shots and finished with five points and six rebounds, and Bowen went 3-of-3 from 3-point range and scored 13 in 28 minutes.

Tim Duncan just missed his fifth straight double-double with 23 points, nine rebounds and seven assists, while Michael Finley added 14 points and six rebounds.

Milwaukee (3-5) played its fourth straight game without Redd on Tuesday and dropped its third in a row with a 99-93 loss to Cleveland. Redd, who sprained his ankle while going after a loose ball in Milwaukee's 94-86 win against the Knicks on Nov. 2, tried to practice Tuesday.

"It was clear he wasn't ready," Bucks coach Scott Skiles said of Redd, who leads Milwaukee with 21.3 points per game.

The Bucks' defense apparently wasn't ready either as LeBron James scored 41 points and the Cavaliers shot 48.6 percent.

"(James) had 41 and he made it look easy,'' Skiles said. "We tried switching a little bit. My only real complaint would be that we're still not aggressive enough on someone like that. The better players right now are putting up big numbers on us."

That's good news for Duncan, who is averaging just 11.0 points and 10.0 rebounds in his last two games in Milwaukee.

Richard Jefferson scored a team-high 19 points for Milwaukee on Tuesday, while Luke Ridnour scored 14 of his 17 in the third quarter. Jefferson has averaged just 11.8 points and 5.2 rebounds in 10 career games against the Spurs, and hasn't been on the winning side versus San Antonio since he scored a game-high 27 in New Jersey's 91-82 victory on Nov. 13, 2002.

Prior to their 96-94 loss to the Spurs on March 1, 2008, the Bucks had won eight of the previous 11 meetings in Milwaukee.

Probably saw her Spur.

Also, the bucks have had the spurs number for some reason, like okur and offensive rebounds against us at the end of close games vs the Jazz.

Spurs visit Bucks at Bradley Center (http://64.246.64.33/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=nba/news/news.aspx?id=4190535)

(Sports Network) - The San Antonio Spurs shoot for their second win in as many nights as they travel to Milwaukee to face the Bucks at the Bradley Center.

Playing without superstars Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili, the Spurs won in San Antonio for the first time in the 2008-09 season Tuesday when Tim Duncan scored 23 points, grabbed nine rebounds and doled out seven assists to lead the team past the resurgent New York Knicks, 92-80, at the AT&T Center.

Veteran Michael Finley added 14 points for the Spurs, who have won two of three but still find themselves sporting a 2-4 record on the year. Bruce Bowen and rookie George Hill scored 13 and 12 points, respectively, in the win.

Ginobili is out until at least December, while Parker sprained his left ankle against Miami last week and could miss up to four weeks.

The Bucks lost their third straight game Tuesday when Cleveland superstar LeBron James scored 41 points for the third straight time as the Cavs dispatched Milwaukee, 99-93, in Cleveland.

Richard Jefferson led the way with 19 points for the Bucks, while Luke Ridnour scored 14 of his 17 points in the third quarter for Milwaukee.

Bucks sharp-shooter Michael Redd, who leads the team with 21.3 points per game, missed his fourth straight contest against Cleveland with a sprained right ankle and is questionable for tonight's game.

San Antonio swept the home-and-home season series between the two teams last season and Milwaukee did the same in the 2006-07 campaign. Overall, the home team has won five of seven and eight of the last 11 meetings between the two clubs.
