KG talks shit to everyone, to give the allusion that he is tough. He is lucky he has Pierce on his team because KG shrivels up once the 4th quarter starts.

The "you're tripping" game? 2002. They got double techs and Duncan's was rescinded by the league a few days later. Spurs won by 30.

And it's where the Artest quote comes from.
I remember one time Kevin Garnett was mushing him, and shoving him in the face; and Tim Duncan didn't do anything, he didn't react. He just kicked Kevin Garnett's ass, and won the damn championship. You know what I'm sayin'? That's gangsta. Everybody can show emotion, dunk on somebody, scream and be real cocky; but Tim Duncan is a ... he's a pimp.

well KG's always been jealous of Tim, in an article in SLAM magazine I think, he would always say that Tim couldn't complain about anything. However, KG's wife is prettier than Amy.

There were 2 incidents in the 1999 series -- the one that's in duncan228's video occurred pretty late in Game 4 of the series, I think shortly after Anthony Peeler had put a pretty good gash in Mario Elie's head.
There was, though, the more famous incident in Game 1 of that 1999 series in which Garnett got into Tim's face and started doing his talking with his head turning as he talked. Tim's response was just to smile and say nothing, as Mario Elie said after that game:
"Tim is a cool cat. Nothing fazes him," teammate Mario Elie said. "Kevin Garnett got in his face and Tim just smiled and walked away. Tim doesn't brag. He just goes out and does his job."
For the record, that game (Game 1) was on May 9, 1999, which just happened to be Mother's Day, 1999 -- leading to a pretty good supposition that if Garnett was ever going to wish Timmy a Happy Mother's Day, it was that day. (curiously, the T'Wolves were almost always out of the playoffs by Mother's Day in other years and when they were in at that juncture (2004), they were playing the Kings and not the Spurs).

That's the game it supposedly happened. Supposedly, when Duncan was shooting free throws, Garnett said, "Happy Mother's Day, mother fucker."

And, I guess to make the circle complete, there was still another incident in February 2002, which resulted in a double technical and ejections for each. It actually started with after Parker was fouled by Rasho (then a T'Wolf). Parker walked away but bumped Garnett, who then pushed Parker from behind. Duncan interceded with words towards Garnett and the official (I'm almost 100% sure it was Luis Grillo) gave a T to both Duncan and Garnett. There were more words shortly thereafter and each was ejected.
So, there are 3 Duncan/Garnett incidents: one that was just words and went nowhere; another that was the spin-off of a Joe Smith/David Robinson shoving match, with Garnett laying some sissy slap to Duncan's head from behind; and a third that involved Garnett shoving Tony Parker (pattern continues) only to get pissed that Tim Duncan actually came to Parker's defense.
By the way, Duncan's team has won each game in which those confrontations have occurred.

thanks for posting this. It was in BBall central recently. funny how Garnett waits until Tim turns his back on him to slap him on the head. wait, that's his modus operandi, isn't it? From what was said the other time it was posted, KG tucked tail and ran out of there before TD or any Spur could retaliate.

By the way, that 2002 ejection of Duncan was rescinded by the league.
A day after Tim Duncan's first ever ejection (in a Spurs victory over the Timberwolves), the ejection was rescinded by the league, reports Johnny Ludden of the San Antonio Express News. Duncan will not have to pay the $1,000 fine that goes with being ejected from a game. He and Kevin Garnett were both tossed from the game in the third quarter after they twice engaged in a verbal altercation that started after Garnett pushed Spur Tony Parker in the back. Garnett, whose ejection was not rescinded, cussed at Duncan, who responded by saying "You're tripping, man" and then walking away after the first technical. He was tossed when he turned around after continued abuse from Garnett.

No surprise there. Duncan speaks loudest with his game.
With the history it's amazing to me that Duncan and Garnett work together for adidas. They don't seem close, but there does seem to be mutual respect, at least in what we've been allowed to see. I guess it's business, they're both paid to represent the brand and they're both professionals.
The game incidents can be written off as heat of the moment, but if the Mother's Day story is true it's pretty amazing that Duncan, or anyone, could let a comment like that be forgotten. His mother's death impacted him greatly, I don't see him taking a comment like that in stride. Maybe Garnett apologized at a later time, maybe they both agreed to let it go.

if David didn't always smile he'd be a scary guy, he's fuckin huge
but KG is a bitch, I never liked him
Timmy >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> KG
he is INFINITELY better than KG in all aspects, except maybe the chest pounding type of emotion, Timmy has the fist pump...which the NBA has seen much more of than the chest pounding, for OBVIOUS REASONS

Garnett cross-dresses every Thursday. He also intentionally drops the soap while showering after every game, and then immediately widens his stance, bends over, and looks over his left shoulder while dropping "Magnum" on his leprechaun buddies.

KG's trade to Boston has turned him into a D-Bag. When he was in Minny he was cool, great player on a bad team who tried his hardest and went about his business, now he's just a cocky asshole who thinks he's Larry Bird so he talks trash to everyone.
Al Jefferson is the new KG that everyone should respect. If the Spurs manage to get him as a Duncan replacement they won't miss a beat.

I've always liked KG's passion for the game, but his theatrics have always been a turnoff. It seems that KG always has to try to intimidate people with his BS antics rather than with his game. Didn't Bonner and KG go at it once, if I'm not mistaken when we got Bonner there was a video of him and KG going at it. Maybe someone can find it.

KG can be an asshole but I have to believe he had a brain fart and didn't remember that Tim's mom died of cancer years earlier. That...or he thought it would be funny to say "Happy Mother's Day" to Tim because Tim was a Mother Fucker in his opinion. Oddly, I hope its the latter.
