CURRY COOKING: Eddy Curry met briefly with his agent, Leon Rose, before last night's game. Curry has been sidelined since the second game of the season with a bruised right knee. He is expected to be out another two weeks.
D'Antoni had removed Curry from the rotation before the Knick season opener.
There is interest in the center from the Spurs and Heat. Miami may be willing to trade D'Antoni favorite Shawn Marion, but a potential deal with Curry is complicated because their salaries don't match.

Although there is no actual confirmation here, this is the second time we see this news surface.

He makes like ten mill per season. What trade could we make that would work?

There is always "interest" from the Spurs. And by "interest" I mean agents cooking up these schemes to create some sort of buzz for their player. We've been played enough to learn to overlook these rumors, especially when it's for a player we shouldn't even want.

Yeah they fuckin' wish. :lmao If they take Bonner, Vaughn and pay 2/3 of Curry's salary then maybe the Spurs are "interested".

I cant believe they want this guy. If the reports are true. Maybe they feel he has the talent but doesnt have the "motivation" to get better. Or theyre just desperate.

When are Spurs gonna realise sometimes its ok to trade or sign a player who doesnt attend church on Sundays and is a model citizen. Its ok to sign a guy who can play basketball. This guy can score on the low block, hes actually 7 feet, and has the bulk to not be dominated by bigger Centers in the league.

The knock on him is his defense, but who would you rather guard Bynum, Shaq and Yao - Oberto, or Curry. Thomas is done at this point until he proves otherwise - he sux.

He doesnt need to play 30 minutes a night - he can flat out score on the block, sign him up.

I think Udoka is probably a better rebounder. Curry is a disappointment. Why trade our future for this Titanic?

They signed Manu. Look where that got them... a 2-5 start because he doesn't listen...

I'll take agent floating the Spurs as being interested to increase league interest in their client for $1000, Alex.

I'll hang RC by his balls from the front of the Alamo if he trades so much as a 2047 second rounder for that lazy scrub Curry.

Kurt Thomas + filler? Cap room soon for NY and a quality big man for SA.

Eddie Curry makes 9.7 mil
to trade would require 8.8 mil to 10.6 mil in salary.

Curry is 25 years old and turns 26 in December.
He's 6-11 and 285.

He has career 55% FG and is one year removed from
averaging 19.5 ppg.

Bonner 3 mil
Vaughn 1.2 mil
Thomas 4.2 mil
Farmer .6 mil

can make the trade happen.

NY would cut Farmer and Vaughn.
Thomas and Bonner would have 2 years left at 14.2 mil total.

Curry will cost almost 31 mil over 3 years.

New York would save approx 15 mil plus NBA tax which
could mean as much as a 30 mil savings for NY.

I'd do it and ask for a number 1 pick along with Curry.

That's decent trade. Besides, maybe Curry will learn a thing or two about playing defense and how to play the big man role alongside Tim Duncan.

Are you serious? Have you taken some time and actually watched Fab play? What Fab lacks in athleticism and height, is more than made up by his basketball IQ.

Curry's Bball IQ is the equivalent to Mike Tyson's actual IQ.

In that case, Curry's out. :depressed

personally if we can get a good deal going i wouldn't mind curry. It would be a huge upgrade from our current bigs and there is that possibility of potential. I would much rather spurs get curry than marbury, because of the rebounds and that won't hurt once manu and parker slip back in and produce in the scoring.

There is no way the Spurs organization is going to commit $30M over three years to Curry. No way.

If D'Antoni can manage to get the Matrix to NY for Curry and whatever bags o' chips he can find there in NY the man should win coach/GM of the decade for that trade alone.

We'll, we're paying Bonner.

Ok, not that much, but we are paying him.

Which, in itself, is a disgrace

I'm sure the Spurs would act as a facilitator(3rd team) between NY & whoever gets Curry...maybe we get lucky & get a player who is not wanted in the deal.
