There's very little modern country that I like, but I love country/bluegrass from the 30s-50s (and similar). Good stuff.

I don't know, but there definitely should be a dumb song category. Where else can we put "Who Let the Dogs Out"?

When Dave Barry was still writing, every year he would put out a new list of "the worst songs ever made". It usually included such gems as "MacArthur Park" and "La Bamba", but every year, without fail, he made a special case for "I Shot the Sheriff".

Every music has dumb songs but music is art so although I think "I shot the Sheriff" is a classic others may think it totally sucks.

My god she is gorgeous.

Lifetime Top 10 for sure.

I still listen to Waylon, Cash, Coe, etc. The new stuff does nothing for me.

George Strait has now won more CMA Awards than any other artist in the history of the Country Music Association. Going into Wednesday night’s (Nov. 12) awards show in Nashville, Brooks & Dunn topped the list with 19 awards, including 14 wins as vocal duo of the year. Strait and Vince Gill were tied with 18 victories. With Sugarland besting Brooks & Dunn for a second year in the vocal duo category and Gill not nominated (mainly because he had not released an album during the qualification period for this year’s awards), Strait’s two wins pushed him to a total of 20 wins.

Strait and longtime producer Tony Brown shared the two latest awards — single of the year for “I Saw God Today” and album of the year for Troubadour...

I was told that song was a huge hit when it came out. Maybe it would fall under the "Alternative" category or something.

Lets just say the weddings I attended weren't country/alternative friendly...:lol
You might hear DMX in the background or something....

That song's popularity was responsible for Billy Ray ever having enough fame or money for a woman to want to sleep with him and his monster mullet. I blame Achy Breaky Heart for the existence of Hannah Montana.

But back to the topic of Shania Twain, I'd hit that til I had an achy breaky pelvis.
