Mother Of Suns' Barbosa Dies In Brazil

Leandro Barbosa's mother has passed away in Brazil, the Arizona Republic is reporting.

Citing a report at Globoesporte.com, Barbosa received the news Thursday night and was trying to arrange a flight to Sao Paulo.

He left training camp in late September to be with his mother in Brazil and returned to the Suns in mid-October when her condition improved.

I saw a story once about Barbosa and his family in Brazil. I'm not a Suns fan but it's impossible not to root for Barbosa to have success considering where he came from and the conditions he grew up in. Props to his moms for helping him achieve his success.

I think his father passed away just two summers ago. This is very sad. He's a very connected person, so you know his ties were very strong. I hope everything gets back on track. He's in a tough situation, losing both parents and a system in which he thrived in a short time frame. I pray his personal life mends and that he continues to develop so he can recapture his professional success.
