Alston and Barnes were suspended for two games without pay and Nash for one. The league also fined Shaquille O'Neal $35,000 and Tracy McGrady $25,000 on Friday for their actions during the Rockets' 94-82 win in Phoenix on Wednesday.

Barnes knocked back Alston with his shoulder late in the third quarter, and Alston charged him. Nash ran in and was pushed back by McGrady, who was shoved down by O'Neal.

Nash was cited for "escalating the altercation." He and Barnes will miss Friday's game at Sacramento, and Barnes will sit Sunday against Detroit. Alston will miss games Friday against San Antonio and Saturday against New Orleans.

Its appropriate I believe, as no Alston is going to help the spurs at least a bit.

Barry may not be available for tonight's return to the AT&T Center, though. A sprained right thumb, suffered in the Rockets' Wednesday night victory over the Phoenix Suns, may keep him on the sidelines. X-rays taken Wednesday were negative, but Barry said the thumb was swollen and sore on Thursday.

Dang! Our best hope was if Alston played. Now we are going to lose by 30 instead of 20.

Barnes deserved one game not two.
Alston deserved one game.
Nash's suspension is a fucking joke.
T-Mac deserved a game if Nash got a game.
Shaq deserved a game if Nash got a game.
Stern needs to go.
Suspensions in November don't mean shit.
Thats all.

the NBA set the tone giving him one game for making the situation worse than what it was...

IMO both Shaq and T-Mac deserved a suspension as well...

Barnes started the whole thing, Alston was reacting to what he did.

T-Mac and Yao were trying to calm the combatants down when Nash decided to try to look tough and charged in, escalating the situation. Nash turned an almost harmless shoving incident that was over into a near brawl. Also, Nash was off-balance and probably flopped a bit to try to get rid of T-Mac (like he tried to do with Horry, even though that flop backfired).

Alston probably deserved fewer games than Barnes, but other than that they handled the situation pretty well.
