FRANKFURT, Germany -- Former heavyweight champion Riddick Bowe will fight for the first time in three years on the undercard of the IBF title fight between Wladimir Klitschko and Hasim Rahman.

Bowe's opponent for the Dec. 13 fight is yet to be determined, promoters said Thursday.

Bowe, 41, retired in 1996 and came back in 2004. He had another fight in 2005 and has not fought since.

Bowe's only loss in 43 fights was against Evander Holyfield, who at 46 is preparing to fight Nikolai Valuev next month for the WBA title.

Bowe has had massive money problem and if I remember correctly that was directly attributed to his first retirement due to head injuries.

He's got to be hard up for cash if he is coming back. He barely cared about fighting and hated to train at all when he was young and had all the talent in the world.. And why is he being allowed to fight, if he has head injuries??

He was never a good fighter, he was just a guy who could punch really hard. He's got as good a chance to win a couple of fights as anyone else.

Uh no he was a damn good fighter in his prime. He won a Silver medal at the Olympics and beat Holyfield for the Title when Evander was a great champion, not the washed up old man he is now. Bowe's problem was never lack of talent, just desire and he was still damn good for a while..

You must not have watched the olympics when he was there. He'd basically stand there and get pummeled until he decided to throw a punch at which point he would decapitate his opponent, usually when he was several points behind. He forgot to throw any punches against Lennox Lewis (another terrible fighter) and got his ass kicked. When he bothered to show up in shape, he was decent, but he was never anything more than a heavy pair of hands. He was fortunate to be a pro in one of the weakest heavyweight divisions in history to that point, which is how he ended up getting fights.

Evander Holyfield was one of the gutsiest fighters ever, but he weighed 205 pounds soaking wet and had to work ridiculously hard just to have that much meat on his cruiserweight frame. The only reason he lost the title to Bowe is because he refused to back up and stood there and traded punches. It was absolutely the most courageous fucking performance I ever saw in a boxing match, but exactly what he did in the ring was strategically the only thing Holyfield could have done at that point to give Bowe a chance to beat him.

Holyfield also lost to Michael Moorer during that same stretch because his shoulder was injured. Please don't try to convince anyone that Moorer was any good.
