I mean my wife has a yorkie so it wouldn't take much but if it was my old dog (Chow) then it could take me a minute or two to try and figure him out.

My sister's dog MiloBear is a pit/lab mix and he's a mean fucking cuss. We've scrapped. Ironically, because I've had to come to the defense of my pussy golden retriever.

If I had to choose a dog to fight it would probably be a Bull Mastiff. Those a-holes are huge and look strong. I think it would give me the best fight. I would warm up by fighting a bull terrier though because they both have bull in their name. Yeah I know there are Bull dogs and Pitbulls but I chose the bull terrier ok

A- Snoop Dogg

Bull Mastiffs are huge, but wouldn't do much other than snuggle you to death. Same with Great Danes.

Good point. I didn't think about that. Ok so how about a German Shepherd? Cops use 'em right? So they gotta be tough. Ok so my warm fight will have to change now. Are Schnauzer's (sp?) German? If not then I choose Dirk Nowitzky!

They are German, but what kind are we talking? Mini? Standard? I don't know if you want to fuck with a Giant Schnauzer for a warm up fight. A daschund wouldn't be too tough. Maybe a Weimarenner to really build your hype. I don't know if my brother's dog is representative of the breed but he's really big, not very tough and dumb as a sack of hammers.

Good looking out on the German dog knowledge. Ok so a Weimarenner huh? Alright I'll fight a ghost dog. How is his conditioning? Tell your brother that it's just a warm up fight and to clip his damn nails. Shit I am getting pumped already.
So since you are knowledgeable in the art of german dog vs man fighting who should I take? Who would be a tougher opponent? The German Shpherd or that Giant half dog half bull half monster Schnauzer thing?

Definitely the sheperd. A giant schnauzer could be tough, but they are basically just humongous terriers, and generally regarded as fairly mellow ones at that. Law enforcement and military use German Shepherds for a reason.
When easjer and I researched breeds for ownership I never imagined I'd be using that info to handicap a fight.

Yeah well I am glad you did. It never hurts to have a little insight on your opponents. So what weaknesses can I look out for? Are all of them police or military trained or are there some civilian GS'? Also what would be a common ground? I am thinking I might stay away from large fields since I have seen them trained to attack those fat guys and it's always large grassy areas. I am thinking that they set their large claws into the ground for traction or have some kind of alliance with the earth that would allow it to shift and knock me off balance just before he attacks. I notice that they always fall right when the GS jumps to attack.

I just assumed this would be going down in the Octagon. And I can't say I have many fighting tips to offer. Sadly most sites I saw just offered banal tidbits like breed traits and tips on training and caring for the breed. Of course, that means that there's totally a niche waiting to be filled. If you can develop strategies for fighting dogs one on one you could seriously make some money. Just take the standard information on the breed off the websites and add an extra : "How To Take Your Dog Down If It Gets Crazy".
Just from a basic tactical standpoint they've got a low center of gravity and a wide base, so trying to go after their legs is probably not a viable strategy. Plus, if they counter with a sprawl maneuver they can put you face down with their jaws across your neck in a hurry, and that's a world of hurt my friend. But if you can find a way to take them to the mat their grappling skills are severely limited by a lack of opposable thumbs. For a larger breed your best bet would be to bait them into a stand up fight on their hind legs. Get into a standing clinch. When they go for a bite bring your arm out to meet them. If you can get a forearm in close enough to the jaw they won't be able to bring down a bite with any real force. Then use your off other arm to deliver some body blows and take away his wind. Wear him out like that and look for a KO in the third.

I wouldn't fight my dog...dogs are far too sweet, loving and loyal to mistreat in such a way.
If my dog were a pitbull, however, I wouldn't hesitate to shoot it in the head.
