SEAN MARKS PLACED ON INJURED LIST

- Mike Wilks Added To Active Roster -

SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Spurs today announced that forward/center Sean Marks has been placed on the injured list due to a sprained fifth interphalangeal joint on his left foot. Marks, who has appeared in seven games this season, is averaging 3.0 points and 1.0 rebounds in 7.7 minutes per contest.

At the same time the team activated guard Mike Wilks from the injured list. Wilks has missed the last five games after being placed on the injured list on February 8 with left patella tendinitis. He will be in uniform for tonight’s Spurs-Rockets game.

With Marks' injury history, he might actually be injured this time.

You cannot escape that damn sprained fifth interphalangeal joint. Is Beno banged up seriously? I thought Marks did fairly well when given the opportunity.

I think Marks was only active while Duncan and Horry were banged up. They are probably healing and it just makes more sense to have Wilks active now.

How can you put a guy that averages 18.7 points, 6.2 rebounds per 48 minutes on the IR?!! :flipoff

I like Wilkes and all, but i would really like to see Sato or Johnson get some playing time. I'm pretty sure Johnson is injured but what is wrong with Sato.

This is already posted.

Johnson has been cleared by doctors. But he and Sato are likely long-term projects, not guys who are getting playing time this season.

The spurs should just let him go so he can play in a team that will give him some playing time.
