More than the numbers, the thing I like best about Hill is that this is the third straight game in which he led the game clinching run. Numbers are nice but having a rookie who actually contributes to winning is better.

The great thing about Hill is that it seems he could very well play both backourt position and maybee even SF.

Wouldn't it be ironic if the Spurs find their long SF drafting a PG?

Parker thinks Rose will be ROTY.

Praise mounts for Rose (http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/basketball/bulls/chi-27-bulls-bits-chicago,0,4622426.story)
By Jay Nanda

SAN ANTONIO - Only 16 games into his NBA career, Derrick Rose has certainly accumulated his share of fans among the league's coaches and his peers.

Still, the Bulls' rookie guard and No. 1 overall draft choice practically was floored when told of one of his latest admirers before Wednesday night's game against the San Antonio Spurs at the AT & T Center.

Count Spurs point guard Tony Parker, the 2007 NBA Finals most valuable player, among those predicting Rose will be this season's NBA rookie of the year. Rose entered Wednesday's game averaging 19 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.7 assists.

"Oh, man," Rose said. "He's one of the best guards in the NBA. He fits well with his team, he's a leader, he knows the game very well. It's an honor for him to say that about me. I appreciate it."

That's not to say Rose's teammates have any reason to sell him short, though. Even though Rose's last-possession jumper in Monday's 101-100 victory at Utah did not fall, attempting such important shots is what a floor general is supposed to do—rookie or not.

"Right now we have a lot of confidence in Derrick Rose," Bulls forward Andres Nocioni said. "He's playing like a veteran. He's making the right decisions at the end of the game, doing what he needs to do. He drives to the basket really hard. When he's open, he takes the shot.

"He's playing really smart. He surprised me. I knew he was a nice player and really good with a lot of talent, but right now, he's playing at a high level."

What Final Four? Rose played possum when asked about his previous trip to San Antonio in April. His Memphis Tigers lost the NCAA championship game 75-68 in overtime to Kansas about five miles away from the AT & T Center at the Alamodome.

"I forgot all about that," Rose said. "I hadn't really thought about that. That was in the past, and we lost the game, so I hadn't really thought about it at all."

Rose said his one season at Memphis under former NBA coach John Calipari gave him all the preparation he felt he needed to be a pro.

"It wasn't even the Final Four, it was the whole year. Coach Cal, he coached in the NBA before, so the stuff that we were doing here, we were doing that in college. He prepared us for the whole year—the defenses and all that stuff. When coach Vinny [Del Negro] came in, I basically knew all the things he was talking about."

[B]Layup: Bulls coach Vinny Del Negro, who played from 1992-98 for the Spurs, received a warm ovation from the fans during introductions. … The Bulls' one trip per season to San Antonio affords Nocioni a chance to renew acquaintances with his Argentine Olympic teammates: Spurs guard Manu Ginobili and center Fabricio Oberto. "We had a nice barbecue dinner at Oberto's last night," Nocioni said. "Whoever's hometown it is, you pay. These are the rules. But for me, it's expensive [to eat out with them in Chicago]. They are two, and I am one."
