Game Preview: http://spurstalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=111019

Ah, 4 games in a row - it feels good! With the team finally complete, minus the Savior - the Spurs are on a roll coming into Houston. After an explosive game from the Gay-Mayo combo, the Spurs will be facing the big 3.5 out of Houston in the second game of the I-10 rivalry series.

Team is Everything, believe!

As a Chinese fan, it was the first time after Houston's last game against Pacers to hear Yao say dirty about his teammates or coach ever to Chinese media.

Now as reported, he and Adelman are both unsatisfied with each other. Fun to watch the current Rockets game.

Go Matty! Go Georgi!

Yes, but I assume Parker and Ginobili could still have somewhat limited minutes.

Ron Artest
Luis Scola
Yao Ming

Tonight should be an easy W. Houston is usually a team we can go out and expect to beat. With our Big Three intact and our strong supporting cast, tonight's win should be easy.

:depressed

It will be a close game throughout. Rockets will probably be leading the way while we keep the game close. It might even come down to a buzzer beater or some crazy play that wins this game.

Spurs winning streak is at stake here.

Should be hard fought, and typically SAS-HOU low-scoring.

Where are all these tall china men comming from? A 6-9pg! I think he will take Lamars place next year.

The Lamar problem is indeed troubling. But the Lakers have too much talent right now, they can't give Sun Yue any burn. Phil likes Sun Yue (that's why he's not in the D-league) and might shutdown Fisher for a few months and bring in Yue. Fisher will probably retire next year.

But we'll talk about the Lakers when they play the Spurs, I can't be rude and keep talking about about them in the gameday thread.

Go Spurs!

I'm guessing that Duncan will be guarding Yao tonight but I wonder if that will put Timmy in foul trouble. I don't know if Oberto or Scola can guard Yao since he recently had a great game against a 6'9 guy (forgot who). I think Oberto's 6'10 and KT is 6'9, Bonner 6'10 correct me if I'm wrong.

But i guess if anyone had a good chance at defending him it would be Timmy

Jeff McDonald: No T-Mac for Rockets (http://blogs.mysanantonio.com/weblogs/courtside/archives/2008/11/jeff_mcdonald_n_6.html)

The Spurs are back at full strength, with Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker returning from injury this week. The Rockets, meanwhile, are not.

Tracy McGrady will miss his second consecutive game tonight with a sore right knee, the Rockets have just announced. McGrady is set to undergo further tests on the knee tomorrow.

McGrady also missed Houston's 91-90 loss to Indiana on Wednesday. In his place, Shane Battier -- who is coming off a foot injury of his own -- gets the start.

In part due to lingering injury, McGrady is averaging 15.6 points per game this season, a career low.

Duncan is probably the most effective, but guarding Yao all game would likely land him in foul trouble.

I imagine Pop will throw a combination of Thomas and Oberto at Yao, with a little bit of Bonner if things go south. While they all give up considerable size (who doesn't to Yao?), they are all crafty and capable of at least getting under his skin a little.

Duncan will likely play strong helpside, and if it comes down to a crunch time situation, I wouldn't be surprised to see him switched onto the big fella.

Yeah, you're right, Yao's a difficult cover when he's aggressive.

Oberto & KT are pretty crafty. You made me think of Bonner. I think Bonner and KT can do the best job on Yao because even though he'll be hard to stop, they can cause Yao to be much less effective on the Defensive end. With their shooting, Bonner and KT can bring Yao out of the paint and make it easier for the Spurs guards and Duncan to score.

Yeah, the only way crafty and Bonner belong in the same sentence is if we're talking about his stamp collection. But the Red Rocket has done a surprisingly good job of hitting his shots recently.

I've noticed that Yao has a tendency to get pretty winded, so if anything just making him chase after the ginger for a while might be productive.

I don't know what Tim is doing out there, but he needs to lift his effort levels, especially on defense and rebounding. We don't have any bigs to help out so the last thing we need it Tim grabbing one or two rebounds.

I know I'm being harsh on Tim as he has to do everything, but that is the situation we're in right now. We don't have any decent big men. If Tim wants to complain he needs to stop complaining to the refs and start complaining to front office for not bringing in an decent big men to help out on D, or at the very least call out his team mates Kurt Thomas and Oberto especially.

I'm actually in favor of bringing Robert Horry back if out big man situation doesn't change rebounding and defense wise.

He is the best player on the court he needs to step up!

I've been saying this the last 2 years :lol Duncan just doesn't have the fire or the attitude to come out swinging in big games anymore. He's a great anchor and all but there are games (too many in the last couple of years) where he plays with his head up his ass and nowhere near superstar quality.

I think he's feeling sorry for himself looking at some of his body language and arguing non foul calls. If Tim wants to complain, first he needs to raise his own game and then get in Oberto and Thomas' faces and tell them they need to step the fuck up.

He needs to forget about the missed foul calls and raise his aggression. He also has to play smarter against Ming. Start from further out and drive it in against Yao and force him to foul you
