MIAMI - Shaquille O'Neal is scheduled to undergo an MRI on his injured right knee on Thursday.

The superstar center of the Miami Heat suffered the injury early in the first quarter of Tuesday's game against Chicago and missed Wednesday's game at Indiana.

"He'll take an MRI before we determine his status," Heat coach Stan Van Gundy said. "But (Heat trainer) Ron (Culp) doesn't think it's anything serious."

"I'm feeling good. I'll be alright," O'Neal said after Wednesday's game at Indiana.

Miami's next game is Saturday at home against the Orlando Magic.

Without the game's most dominant force in the middle, the Heat lost both of their games in overtime after the All-Star break.

The 7-1, 325-pound O'Neal was injured less than two minutes into Tuesday's game after colliding with Othella Harrington while going for an offensive rebound.

X-rays taken at the United Center were negative.

O'Neal, who is averaging 22.7 points, 10.4 rebounds and 2.5 blocks, failed to score in a game for the first time in his 13-year career on Tuesday.

Back in the Eastern Conference following a trade from the Los Angeles Lakers, O'Neal has led the Heat to the best record in the conference at 40-16.

You could probably put one in orbit around him.
