Wolverines win 81-73 over the Blue Devils in Ann Arbor.

Another pretty big win to accompany their upset of then #4 UCLA a few weeks ago.

Great 1-3-1 defense forcing Duke into a lot of tough perimeter jumpers, and to be honest, Duke was just missing a lot of jumpers even if they were good looks. Offensively, the Wolverines employed a very patient yet still aggressive stretch offense that attacked from the basket from the elbows and found kick out opportunities for three point shots.

A really great win for a college program that has quite frankly sucked for several years. Hopefully, this gets the program going and allows for them to start getting even better recruits in the next few years.

Where's sa butta when you need him?

No, Michigan has no more suspensions or penalties from the Chris Webber/Ed Martin scandal, as far as I know. Basically, Michigan gave itself self-imposed sanctions and all the Fab Four records (particularly the two Final Four appearances) are stricken from the record.

This year, they have beaten UCLA and Duke. Both were ranked #4 at the time Michigan beat them. They're still out of the top 25 rankings, but are close. It's not much to brag about. And, it's still very early in a season that can go many different ways. But, for a college basketball program that has been down for so long, it's a very nice start with a couple suprisingly quality wins. I'll take it.
