Not the Lakers. Haha what now Lakers?

The Lakers have been screwed over by having to play only 11 of their first 15 games at Staples, as well as a "killer" b2b schedule.

oh gosh, we should just not bother to show up and play anymore, we lost such a meaningful statistic.

Thunder Dan

the Lakers point differential would be better if they didn't blow a 15 point lead to the great Washington Wizards, or lose to the Indiana Pacers even though they led by 15 going into the 4th

I mean most championship teams blow giant leads in the 4th quarter

the team that has won the point differential has won the championship 8 out of the last 10 years

The Lakers historically haven't played well against bad teams.

It's a shitty team break for the Lakers right now...just wait for the hard teams to come along again and the Lakers will retake the point differential lead.

Do you get rings for winning the point differential championship?

TheMadHatter
12-08-2008, 03:18 PM
The Lakers have blown out most teams they've played. The pt differential stat above 10ppg is meaningless because the Lakers are playing their garbage and super garbage lineups during the last 5 minutes of most games and they usually end up giving back 5-10 pts while the other team tries to make things respectable.

If they wanted to run up the score and whoop teams by 20-30 pts every night they could certainly do that by leaving the starters in and not playing guys like Mihm, Mbenga, and Sun Yue.

Lebron and the Starters for the Cavs have play in the 4th quarter once in 2 weeks- so they manage to win by 20-30 while putting in scrubs

the Cavs only have 2 guys that you could consider scrubs- Tarrence Kinsey and Darnell Jackson (rookie)..other than that they all play

Are you some kind of idiot?

You don't play your scrubs in the playoffs moron. Notice I said scrubs not 2nd unit. There is a difference. Scrubs are completely irrelevant towards winning a championship.

Unless you think Pollard and Scalabrini were the reason BOS won.

So your telling me that the Lakers blowing leads to the Pacers and Wizards were because Phil Jackson was insistent on keeping the scrubs in to get Kobe and the first string rest?

And as far as benches go, I would rather have a 10 man rotation of guys that contribute, than have to depend on the same 7 guys every night. That's what I'm sayin

What an interesting discussion.
Now we know for sure that LBJ and his crew are real contenders: the lakers fans accept to discuss with clev fans about point differential leadership and who have the best scrubs.

easy schedule for the cavs,
they played mavs and hornets when they sucked (1st 2 games), Denver before the trade (not sure about that) and the jazz (injured).

and that's all.

Only an idiot Cav fan whose franchise has never won shit would get so excited about PT differential this early in the season.

The Lakers blowing big time leads in the 4th quarter was due to a lot of things, mostly coaching though. Keeping the 2nd unit until 6 minutes left in the game, not playing Bynum in the last 5 minutes, typical Phil Jackson BS that we've come to expect in the first half of the season.

It's a marathon, not a sprint. Any idiot fan who is getting giddy about PT differential this early in the season has clearly never seen his team win jack shit.

So that fact that over the last 10 years the team that has won the point differential has won the championship 8 times, and over the last 20 they have won it 15 times means nothing to you? Those are just fabricated right because your team has won a championship so you are more of an astute basketball mind than someone from Cleveland

alright well I'm not going to argue with someone that thinks that I believe the Cavs are the NBA Champs because they lead the point differential after 20 games.

All I'm saying is a)it's not a meaningless stat, and B)The Cavs came closer to beating the ultimate champs last year than the Lakers did, and the Cavs were a one man show then and still came within a rebound of winning that series.

The Cavs are looking impressive but what I'm trying to get at is that they are basically still a Lebron team. Lebron-Bosh or something i can see, but i guess we will have to just wait and see.

It's way to early to speculate on a lot of the points brought up in this thread, but Cleveland appears to be an elite team at this stage, replacing Detroit. No clear cut favorite in the east now.

It's a good stat but we are not even halfway in to THIS season who says teh Spurs don't have that stat by end of season withthe way they blew out their last two opponents? and even if the Cavs have a better differential you pick them OVER the Celts or the Spurs?!

Hey i like Lebron and think the CAVS are good but title talk is premature Celts have won more games and are the defending champs ...

There will be some slippage by the Cavs coming up.

I'd say 4-3 or 3-4 to finish the year. That will bring down the win margin significantly.

I am without question the most predictable poster on this forum. If the thread title involves Kobe, I will say Lebron is the greatest and Kobe is gay. If the thread title involves the Lakers I will say the Lakers are gay and they suck and the Celtics are great. Really, I'm not even a real person....just a programmed robot who repeats the same drivel over and over and over and over and over and over again.
