He's got a realistic chance to pass DRob for 28th all-time by the end of the season. Only 553 boards away.

Wow, DRob was only 29?

Wednesday's game against Atlanta will be Duncan's 1000th career game. :toast

If he averages 10 reboards a game for the next 300 games

He can move up to 12-13th range.

the guy is gonna hit two milestones in basically the same week.

I think that if you take the playoffs in consideration, Tim has already got more than 10,000 rebounds. And if you don't take the playoffs in consideration, he has played in "only" 843 games.

It's goona be hard to pass those 60s players who had like 25 rebounds a game.

That's what happens when you play in an era of 6'2 white guys..

True. Duncan has 9945 total rebounds for the regular season, 1975 for the Playoffs for a career total of 11,920.

And if you don't take the playoffs in consideration, he has played in "only" 843 games.

That's why I said it will be his 'career' 1000th game on Wednesday. (843 regular season, 155 Playoffs as of now).

Considering you typically play 60-82 games in a regular season, and can play a max of 28 games in a post-season (26 for the early part of Duncan's career), that ratio is beyond impressive.

...that ratio is beyond impressive.

I find everything about Duncan beyond impressive. :)

If you really watch his game, his consistency, he's off the charts. It's unreal what he brings every night, and how long he's maintained the high level of performance. We've been lucky to have him.

The MVP race doesn't interest me, it's a nice little write-up. :smokin

NBA.com Race to the MVP (http://www.nba.com/2008/news/features/rob_peterson/12/12/121208racetomvp/index.html)

6. Tim Duncan, San Antonio Spurs | Team Record: 13-8
PPG RPG APG SPG BPG FG% FT%
21.3 10.6 3.3 0.4 1.7 .527 .704

Last Week's Rank - 6

Three wins for the Spurs, three double-doubles for Duncan. And with every consistent performance, Duncan adds to his considerable legacy. Duncan needs 30 boards to reach 10,000 for his career. He already has 18,000-plus points and 2,000-plus blocks on his ledger, so when he grabs those 30 boards he'll join Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Hakeem Olajuwon, Shaquille O'Neal, Patrick Ewing, Robert Parish and Robinson in the exclusive 18K-10K-2K club. With four games 'til the next R2MVP, Duncan will probably get there this week.
