one of many musicians that has had an untimely death, and one of the great ones from texas. i sometimes forget how badass of a guitarist he was and how good a drummer his brother is until a song comes on teh radio or my playlist.

btw if you have some free time check out some of their home videos on youtube. funny shit!! :downspin:

RIP dimebag.

its hard to believe its been 4 years. That was one of the worse days of my life. Such a senseless act that takes away one of the greatest metal guitar players of all time.

Its also the anniversary of when John Lennon was murdered. This is just a horrible day for music. A horrible day for mankind in general.

RIP Dime and John

i was SO stunned the day i found out about his death that i had to leave the office... My boss asked me what's wrong and i told him... he didn;t understand at first but when i started to talk about him and that he was from Arlington, TX (where he lives) he gave me the day off...

He will forever have a place not only in my music collection but in my heart...

Dimebag Darrell forever!

I was never a Pantera fan, but it's too bad he got shot.

i was driving to the airport and regular people camne on from the vulgar display of power cd. i was blown away by how tight the guitar and drums were synced. it made me sad to remember he was dead. then i realized what day it was and knew it was close to the day he got shot. i couldnt remember the actual day, just that it was early dec.
by demons be driven i think is my fav song they did from all their albums

Dimebag was a bad ass guitarist.

December 8 was also the date that John Lennon got shot in 1980.

Another musical talent cut short- damn.

RIP.

From the great words of Cody Canada and Cross Canadian Ragweed.

Dimebag Darrell, God bless that man
Ripped from us by the Devil's hand
Only thing in his plan
Was love and rock 'n roll
Cowboy from Hell on a twisted trail
Swept away where the wild winds wail
Sad truth is you can never tell when it's your time to go

Bad news travels faster
Than any good news that you hear
Just one more dark disaster
Makes you wonder why we're here

Where were you in '94
When they found him down there on the floor
Guess he couldn't take no more
A needle and a gun
Where did you sleep last night
With the angels locked up tight
Love was his only light
Did she have another one

Bad news travels faster
Than any good news that you hear
Just one more dark disaster
Makes you wonder why we're here

Thanx for displaying your lack of intelligence and spelling.

But to answer your childish question, "RIP Joe Blow" threads are usually for people who have just died. "Remembering 9/11" or "Remembering Pearl Harbor" are used to mark an anniversary.

I'll be sure to comment on the "RIP chode_regulator" thread.

i'm opposed to satanic themes

Heavy Metal is about letting the anger go outside instead of killing you on the inside... so think about it... how many more serial killers would be out there if they didn;t have the chance of expressing anger???

Therefore, Pantera is not satanic.. they were just trying to save themselves and you too... :downspin:
