ugh, now we're gonna be reminded of the Ginobili foul.
Which is just behind the .4 debacle on the all time worst Spurs moments list.

These are 2003, not 2006.
Get with the times, man. :lol

That game was so lame. Kerr coming off the bench after barely playing and hitting all those 3's, what a fluke. :(

I guess Raef Lafrentz's 20 pts and 10 rebounds was just another day at the office.

I bet the champ that followed was a fluke too? Typical loser mavs fan.

Kerr hitting that many 3's in concession was a fluke, didn't say anything about the title.
Also, Dirk was out games 5 and 6.
typical dumb Spurs fan! :)

Oh now you're taking the we loss because we had no Dirk route? Nice. :sleep

Finals was a fluke too (and tarnished by the refs).

It's not unreasonable that the Mavs could've won that series with the services of Dirk. Game 5 was won w/o Dirk and Game 6 there was a double digit lead heading into the 4th.
Not making excuses, we probably would've lost in 7 anyway, but never know!!!

Watch the tape, biatch. Not only does he hit the 3s, he shuts down Nash, draws an offensive from Walt Williams, dives to save a rebound, and basically totally owns your ENTIRE TEAM. Put that in your pipe and smoke it! :lmao
Ah, memories.
PS And how about David jumping around like a little kid after Kerr's 4th 3. And people say he didn't love basketball, and didn't care enough about winning a championship. Pfffft. :nope

Firstly it's "succession", and it ain't no fluke. How do I know? As Marv clearly states in the commentary, "Steve Kerr, owner of the highest career 3pt % of all time at 46%..." Let's see... hmmmmm... sharpest 3pt shooter of all time... no way he could ever make 4 in a row. :rolleyes
Moron. You're so stupid you own yourself!

As you are referring to that joke of a Miami series, I actually agree with you.
I'm convinced that all the other NBA team owners conspired to bribe the refs on that one because they couldn't stand the thought of Cuban with a trophy... or Dirk has a va jay jay. Either way, both make sense.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane, it was fun watching these vids. Jackson sure looked like a natural in a Spurs uniform didn't he? So did Kerr, Willis, Claxton...like I said, it was a joy to relive the memories.
Great to see the Admiral display such emotion. That year's team had a lot of passion.
Watching these old games can be a real pick-me-up, cheers :flag:

didnt game one, the mavs were 50 for 50 from the line...and dirk went down in the third quarter in game 3, when the spurs were already up 10 or so, so even with dirk, the spurs were up 2-1 in the series and game 1 was a fluke. plus, the game 5 the mavs won, the spurs were up 20, somehow the mavs came back....with dirk it maybe goes 7, but i still think it ends in 6. dirk was still young then.

close, 49 for 50...and they missed the first one via Najera.

still get the chills when i watch this game!

The Mavs were actually a tougher out with Dirk gone... He wasn't as big of a Spur killer back then as Malik usually did a decent job on him. Dirk out changed there lineup and the Nash/Van Exel backcourt for heavy minutes was a big problem for the Spurs.
Stephen Jackson's efforts in that game are often forgotten. Before Kerr hit his 3's, Buckets was hitting from all over the place and had a particularly sweet pull up 3. Kerr was the clincher, but Buckets brought the Spurs back into the game.

I remember I was so pissed off that I left the apt to go wash my car. As I was drying it and cleaning the interior, I caved in and turned on the radio right before Steve Kerr went on his run. I honestly didn't completely believe it until I got home and saw for myself lol Part of me was thinking I was just hearing what I wanted to hear :lol

That playoff run was great in 2003. Every clinching 4th quarter the Spurs seemed to always be behind and needed a huge run to comeback and it was always someone else to get the team going.

Goddamn that was an amazing comeback... I was so down after the way game 5 ended and by the end of the 3rd had pretty much given up hope. Then that happened. Awesome.

I watched this game in a bar in Fort Worth. Me and my buddy were the only Spurs fans in the place. I was trying to be reserved and not piss people off to begin with, but when the Mavs were up, people there were being so f*cking obnoxious. So, Steve Kerr goes on his run and the place goes silent, outside of screams of delight (and a bit of taunting) from this humble fan and friend and the occasional grumble or sour grapes/ tough guy comment from a DFW townie. To be faced with a hostile environment and for them to just shut it down for me. That was one of the proudest social Spurs fan moments that I've had, save the championships. Beautiful. I've never felt better about coming very close to getting my ass kicked viciously. Anyways, Go Spurs!

My favorite quarter of any game ever. Steve Kerr = awesome. I think the best part was watching DRob jump around more and more after each 3. :D

Except for the Lakers series, we lead that one pretty much the whole way in the 2nd half...

Yes it is. The Mavs were a way tougher matchup for the Spurs with Najera in place of Nowitzki. Anytime Dirk guarded Tim it was an automatic 35/15 game. Najera's physical D frustrated Duncan in games 5 and 6, and Finley, Van Exel, and Nash more than made up for the scoring Dirk provided. Dirk getting hurt in game 4 was the best thing that ever happened to the Mavs for that series. It would have been over in 5 if Dirk never got hurt.
