I wouldn't say LB's class but probably the minor LB's class. Dirk can get it.

TIM DUNCAN IS DA MAN!!!!
that should read 5 assist. the last one on the Bowen 3.
with some 4 minutes to go on regulation, Dirk cops out on a fastbreak. :lol
if it wasn't for JJ Barea, Mavs would have been buried. Next year, they'll trade Barea for an old decrepit has-been. :lmao

Classic game. What a difference mason brings to the Spurs compared to last season.. he proves he belongs on the floor in crunch time. All the guys played well in spurts but no doubt Duncan was the anchor for the Spurs.. vintage Duncan tonite.

Final: Spurs 133, Mavs 126 (2OT) (http://blogs.mysanantonio.com/weblogs/spursworld/2008/12/gameday-spurs-vs-mavericks.html)
By Joe Alexander
Tim Duncan scored 12 points in the overtime periods and Bruce Bowen's only basket of the night was a 3-pointer that put the Spurs in front for good in a 133-126 double-overtime victory over the Dallas Mavericks.
SECOND OVERTIME
The Spurs got a basket from Tim Duncan and a pair of free throws from Roger Mason for a five-point lead with 25.6 seconds left in the second OT.
Bruce Bowen's first basket of the game was a 3-pointer with 1:47 left in the second overtime. That gave the Spurs a 127-125 lead.
FIRST OVERTIME
Dallas' Jason Kidd hit a 3-pointer to tie it with 19.8 seconds left in overtime. Manu Ginobili missed a late shot and we're headed to a second OT even 116-116.
Tim Duncan has two baskets in overtime and the Spurs lead 115-113 with 2:16 left.
FOURTH QUARTER
It's going overtime tied 107-107. Tony Parker made the Spurs' last two baskets, but missed the potential game-winner with time running out.
The Mavericks are shooting well in the fourth quarter, getting back-to-back 3-pointers from Jose Barea and Jason Kidd to take a 104-103 lead with three minutes left.
Manu Ginobili has seven points in the first five minutes of the fourth quarter. The Spurs lead 94-92 with seven minutes left.
The Mavs made a 7-0 surge early in the fourth quarter that included a 3-pointer and a basket by Jose Barea. They lead 86-83 with 10 minutes left.
THIRD QUARTER
George Hill had seven points in the final minutes of the third quarter and the Spurs take an 81-79 lead into the final period.
The ball is bouncing the Spurs' way. Tim Duncan missed a jumper but the Mavs' Jason Kidd tipped in the rebound. Dallas then turned the ball over and Duncan got a basket on his own. The Mavs turned the ball over again and George Hill recorded a three-point play to put the Spurs in front 75-72.
Manu Ginobili is warming up. He has three baskets early in the second half. Matt Bonner hit his third 3-pointer. The Mavericks lead 63-61.
The Mavs opened the second half with an 8-0 run that included two baskets by Dirk Nowitzki. They went back in front 53-47.
SECOND QUARTER
Tony Parker scored 12 points in the last eight minutes of the second quarter to help the Spurs take a 47-45 halftime lead.
Parker hit a shot with 1.2 seconds left in the half to give the Spurs the lead and made 5 of his last 6 shots after a rocky start.
Tim Duncan added nine points in the last seven minutes of the half. The Spurs got back in front when Parker and Duncan sparked an 18-3 run.
The momentum has really turned. The Spurs, who trailed by 11 early in the second quarter, led 43-40 with less than three minutes left in the half.
The Spurs suddenly found their rhythm. Parker and Duncan combined for all the Spurs points in an 11-1 run that cut the Mavs' lead to 36-34.
The Big Three all had a tough time getting going. Duncan didn't score until nearly midway through the second quarter. The Mavs lead 36-29.
The Mavs opened the second quarter with an 8-2 run. A Jason Terry 3-pointer put Dallas in front 30-19.
FIRST QUARTER
The Spurs' starting guards struggled and the Maveicks took advantage to finish the first quarter with a 22-17 lead. Parker was 1 of 7 and Ginobili was 1 of 3 from the field.
Everyone has gone cold - except Dirk Nowitzki. He has eight points and the Mavericks lead 16-11.
Both teams are shooting well. Neither has been as effective on defense. There have been four lead changes in the first six minutes and the Mavs are up 12-11.

Weird with what?? Pointing out the obvious about Dirk and TD. Dirk is not a big time player IMO. He is not clutch. He'll go to the Hall based on stats, but he's not a leader or a winner. TD is on the legendary level, Dirk is just a very good player and that's all he'll ever be..

that's not saying a lot. Comparing Dirk to TD isn't fair. TD is the best ever at his position. Dirk is a fantastic offensive player and an improved rebounder and passer, but his D is suspect and you win championships with defense. Until he becomes a legit shotblocker and help defender the mavs are going nowhere.

The rest of the league is being sent a message that the San Antonio Spurs led by Tim Duncan are an elite team, a championship caliber team in this league.

Still the best big MAN in the league, especially when in a big game. He does so much..
Still the best PLAYER in the league. I don't care how much the public and the NBA want to believe that Kobe and Lebron are the best, it's big men that win championships and Tim is the best big man, so he is by definition the best player.

at this point that's a stretch, but he's definitely top 3. IMO it's Kobe, Lebron, then Tim. You can argue between Lebron and Tim though.

I'd say top 3 now. Tim at 32 is just not quite what he was in his MVP years. 2003 Tim Duncan was so far and away the best player in the NBA with what he did on both ends of the court it was just insane. He's not quite at that level anymore..

Everybody else can argue as much as they want. Give me Duncan, even now, at this stage of his career, over any of them. There's no one I'd rather watch play. Period.

well, a lot of people who don't understand basketball only look at scoring. if they understood the huge importance of rebounding and protecting the basket from opposing players, they'd understand that a big man like Tim is more valuable than a SG or SF like Lebron or Kobe.
defense wins championships, not offense. deal with it.

Bonner was perfect. Googame.
Can anyone explain how someone who was perfect shooting-wise only played half of an hour long game(Bonner)??? Pop needs to go away from small ball against big teams like the mavs. Plus, bonner needs to start getting as many shots as Fin, since he hits a shitload more of them. He would've hit 9-15 at least this game.
Come on, even bowen had a hard time with barrea, this kid is gonna be something, GHill better bring it, I can see future rivalry..
He only scored once with Bruce on him, if I remember correctly... I mean, it's frickin' Barea we're talking about here... you can't get burned like that by that guy, Tony made him look like a fucking all star tonight...
