We are testing out a webcam to be used on gamenight at the AT&T Center and would like some spurstalk.com help in vetting it. We need as many simultaneous connections as possible to visit http://www.nba.com/spurs/multimedia/webcast.html.

Please report back with how long it takes for the camera to load and what you see.

Thanks!

Took under a minute to go from "connecting to media" to "ready". Then it does the same thing again when I hit play. No video at all.

Yeah it's taking us about a minute and a half to get it to load here. But we see the video once it is loaded.

Took about ten seconds to say "ready" but there was nothing there.
If it does work, will it be legal? And does it mean we will have a link to watch games online and with Kori's permission to post link?

I don't think it will be of the game. I would love to be wrong, though.

Takes about a minute and half to say it's "ready". When the play button is pressed, it goes back to "connecting to media" and the loop repeats. Is the camera connected now or should people wait until a specific time like game time?

OK thank you all for your feedback. We have some more troubleshooting it would appear.

Thanks again.

We just want to get all the bugs worked out first before we do anything.

Right now we just need as many people to log on and stay on the feed so we can see how many users it can handle comfortably.

thanks again.

It took hitting 'play' button repeatedly after the "ready" announcement. But after about 6 to 8 tries, it buffered info for about a minute and it's working. Looks like it's a video including a Silver Dancers routine from the opening nite game. Now it's the Windows computer screen saver.

silver dancers? where.....?

spursdotcom
12-10-2008, 06:27 PM
Yes we have the cam in the truck and will be there the entire night. We would like as many of you as possible to logon so we can gauge how many users the cam can take. We don't think that'll be an issue but would definitely like to test the limit.

As far as downloading and viewing the cam goes, it takes almost a minute to buffer. Once you are able to view the stream there is approximately a 90-second delay, so this isn't exactly live.

I have checked IE, Firefox, Opera and Chrome. All of which worked at one point. Currently all appear to be stable for me, but it did take a bit longer for the vid to buffer in FF and Opera. If it has buffered and you still don't see anything try refreshing your browser.

We're still troubleshooting, so if you encounter any problems please let us know. Thanks again.
