Boo-yeah!

I like it..
Diaw has been a waste since signing the contract..
Bell, i like, but he had 3 career years here, but this year is more reflective of who he really is as a player.
Plus his so called "great defense" always got lit up because he was undersized matching up against the better/taller 2guards.

Richardson should give the Suns an injection of scoring and can defend the taller guards.

"He's athletic and gives us a really potent offensive player," Suns General Manager Steve Kerr said. "He's also an excellent defensive players and he's in his prime. He's a very high-character guy and well-regarded around the league for his professionalism."

Kerr has lost his mind

On the bright side for Amare, he gets to play in the final 5 minutes of blowout games to get his stats.

give a guy a break. come on. he's a rookie. he WILL be a good scorer in the NBA if a team gives him a chance.

yeah, he'll be a good scorer, what they needed him to be was a facilitator. i don't like him leaving for what his potential was.. but he usually just went and dribbled around alot.

Well I guess the Suns wanna go back to Suns version 2005. Cuz this is definetly not going to help them on defense at all, and they have no bench either. They'll go about 6-7 deep every night. Sorry Suns, you'll get scoring, but not be able to stop anyone else at the same time. Loss.

This trade just killed the Phoenix Suns.

Their perimiter defense was already shakey to begin with.

Now you trade your best one, for a one dimensional ball hog shooting guard.

Getting back Jared Dudley was solid, but come on.

IMO, this trade just killed the Suns chances of contending, and they just became easier for the Spurs to match up against.

This is only good if the Suns draw the Mavs in the playoffs ... which is unlikely since both will probably be low seeds or one of them might miss the postseason altogether

12-10-2008, 07:26 PM
I hate this trade from the Mavs perspective. The Suns will be better, their D was bad already, and their perimeter offense was also really bad. With Nash along him, JRich will be very good.
I was hoping that if we traded Howard, we could get Richardson. So this is really a bad trade even as a lost opportunity for the Mavs.
I don't like today, I think both the Suns and Hornets got better in the long run.

It's not trading Diaw that I think was the wrong decision. He's useless against almost everyone. It's the inclusion of Bell that confuses me.

They needed someone who can create their own shot on the perimeter. Dudley helps that bench out, that's a good role for him on a good team. He also helps with defensive issues. See quote below as well.

It's hard to be clutch on a shit team, the roster was and is not very good. He still has his athleticism and shooting ability. It's hard to say this is a bad trade especially seeing as how Diaw isn't doing well in Porter's system.

diaw was supposed to a player that can outmatch players at any position due to his athleticism and length. instead, he's just kind of useless at every position. ejecting diaw for richardson is good since richardson is still young. bell was a good role player so the suns still gave up something of value.

Not sure what to make of this. I hate seeing Bell go, he has attitude, but I guess Barnes makes up for it... Diaw had so much potential, but just played soft. However I bet diaw with pop reaming him would have been a good player on the spurs.

Armando

I just learned of this now. Wow I know JRich is no Bruce Bowen and losing Raja will hurt but the other team has to guard JRich as well. At the very least he is an upgrade over Bell at the 2 guard and will alleviate alot of pressure of Nash. He is going to get alot of open looks when teams double team Shaq and Amare. But we will soon see how it looks.

Singletary is d-league material

Not true. At times he ran Porters offense as well as Nash(partly because Nash looks ordinary running it)....but his skills are still weak. He showed good poise & the balls to take (and make)big shots with guys like Stoudemire on the floor.
He's not starting material yet , but he's no scrub either.

I am ready to see what Tucker can do. Tucker and Carl Landry led the Big Ten in scoring in their senior year. Tucker can flat out light it up. I think he's been glued to the bench without reason other than being a rookie.
