What are the chances that a Spur will be selected to join the 3-point shootout during All-Star Weekend? I wouldn't mind seeing Bonner or Mason participate. Anyone know how participants are chosen?

I would rather mason and booner stay home and party with their families and take a break from basketball ready and get refueled for playoffs

I think you are either a guy like Kapono or Steve Kerr, who are just that good at 3s that they can't be left off or you are a superstar who can shoot 3s. Those are the only types that really make it. The league loves giving it to big names like Dirk, Redd, Nash, Allan and so on...

It probably wouldn't be so highly rated if we saw Bonner, Kapono, Parker and Quinn being chosen.

I really think they ask the defending champ and as many all-stars as possible. If Bonner keeps it up, you have to think he has an outside chance. I wonder if his shooting style would work in the 3-point shootout.

I've wondered the same thing a few times, and sadly I think the answer is no - at least not in the time constraints. He winds it up a bit and you need a quick release to nail a good bit.

Regular season: 0-4

Playoffs: 1-5, but it was a big 1.

With Mason's quick release he would have a good shot at winning.

I think Mason could do well in the 3 point shoot out, Bonner takes too much time to set up his shot. I also almost never see Bonner shoot from the baseline. As stated though they will probably try and get as many big names in the competition as possible.

What were his stats in the shooting stars thing last year he won with Admiral and Becky?

If you can answer that, you certainly are too obsessed :toast

I'll mix things up a bit....Have all the coaches suit up and play an oldtimers game. No coaching allowed, they just do their thing.

I do have it, but it's on the DVD I recorded it on and I'm not near it.

I'm pretty thorough in my Duncan stuff, if that's too obsessed so be it. :)

I figured you had it recorded somewhere, you were only going to scare me if you could rattle it out off the top of your head, though :p:

I don't really get into the All Star festivities, but wasn't the shooting stars thing last year with D-Rob, Becky and Parker...?

Yeah, I remember when parker was in it. This is the half-court shots we're talking about right? Didn't Tony nail his very first shot that year?

so who were the 3 in 2007 for the half-court shooting contest?

Spurs can't even repeat in that. At least they get even numbered years to mix it up a little.

Repeating proves sustained dominance ...

Like the Spurs need to prove THAT of anything :hat
