View Full Version : Thoughts on our beloved Mavs tonight

Our beloved Mavs beat the Thunder 103-99 to improve to 13-9, winners of 11 of the last 13.

Not many thoughts. A "moral defeat" if you will that a team that is vying to be one of the worst in the history of basketball hung with us the entire game.

Bass is such an inefficient player

Williams does a lot of nice little things, but that airball wide open 3-PT jumper? weak son

Terry/Dirk were great. Dirk 46 points 8 rebounds 4 assists on 17/30 FG and 10/10 FT.

I'll consider this homestand a success if we beat the Nuggets... but during it, it seems like we've been flirting with disaster far too often.

A win is a win but this should have been a blowout

Dirk-46 points
Terry- 28 points
Rest of team- no one over 10 points.

Defense is spotty. Another "shitty" win letting scrub teams hang around until the last minute.

Dirk scoring 46 and this game was still close is kinda worrisome.

Ah yes, forgot to mention the defense looks shitty. Teams seem to get open looks whenever they want, and on top of that we're not great at forcing turnovers.

A week ago the Mavs had some nice defensive stats regarding opposing FG %'s... we've allowed the past 4-5 opponents to shoot over 45% I believe. Just not good enough.

Hopefully we'll get better in that regard when Jho comes back... but I saw a stat earlier today that the Mavs defense is better w/ JJB on the court than off! WHoda thunk it. Anomaly.

It's flawed to look at things that way because if this game wasn't close then Dirk would've played far less minutes and taken far less shots.

The worrisome aspect of this game is that it was close, not that Dirk scored 46 and it was close.

What's up with Green and Wright? Dick Breath played a lot tonight (seemed to me, didn't check the box score), and I recall some nasty bricks by him. There's really no other guys available?

Do you have to create a new thread with the same fucking title everytime?

Beat a crappy team. Nothing to decipher from this game except they don't suck bad enough to lose to the Supersonics.

Show me something against Denver :wakeup

If I were a Mavs fan, I'd want the team to trade every player except for Dirk and Terry.

The Mavs could go 0-80 but when the they face the Spurs, Dirk turns into Jordan, Howard turns into Pippen and Terry plays like an All-Star

No way Mavs beat Nuggets if they have to get 40+ from Dirk and 25+ from Terry. Someone else needs to step up.

Why Dick Breath continues to get extended minutes is beyond me...another Stack-Avery situation. Wright needs to get PT.

Hey could be worse, we could have lost to the Clippers!

I hope JHo comes back soon, any notion that the Mavs are better without him has been put down in these last two games where the role players aren't contributing much anymore.

Dick Breath is absolutely fucking worthless out there. Who told this shithead he could hit a 3 from the corner?

If J-Ho ever comes back, wins like this will turn into losses.

I think we're a slightly better team w/ J-Ho. Only slightly though, which illustrates how "inflated" his 20/8 is.

I miss the J-Ho that got steals, charges, and could hit a 3. It appears he isn't coming back though.

Mavs need a 3rd scoring option on the floor....JJB and George arent gonna cut it
