I'm positive we lost to more than 4 shitty teams during the season when we swept the Finals in 07....correct me if I'm wrong?
I'd bet money that you're right.
I used to get pissed at the Spurs doing this, but that was years ago...I'm kinda used to it now
I think they let up just so they can keep it exciting, plus Pop likes to have something to yell about.
Me too but its Thunder..c'mon.
Fuck those refs

If anything they are helping the Spurs out.

Final: Spurs 109, Thunder 104 (http://blogs.mysanantonio.com/weblogs/spursworld/2008/12/gameday-spurs-vs-thunder.html)
By Joe Alexander
The Spurs dominated the first 18 minutes of the game and then hung on for dear life at the end of a 109-104 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Thunder never led in the second half, but they nearly erased a 26-point Spurs lead and were within three points twice in the final two minutes of the game and two points in the final 30 seconds.
Tony Parker scored six points in the final 1:49 of the game. Manu Ginobili missed a pair of free throws with 34 seconds left, but then completed a three-point play for the final points of the game.
FOURTH QUARTER
The Thunder were within three points with a minute left. Tony Parker has the Spurs' last two baskets and they lead 104-99 with 54 seconds left.
Tim Duncan and Matt Bonner have combined for the Spurs' last 10 points. The Spurs lead 95-85.
The Thunder got a three-point play from Kevin Durant and a 3-pointer from Earl Watson. The Spurs are hanging on to a 91-85 lead midway through the fourth quarter.
The Thunder made a 6-0 spurt early in the fourth quarter. The Spurs' lead has dwindled to 85-75 with 10 minutes left in the game.
George Hill, Roger Mason Jr., Manu Ginobili, Bruce Bowen and Kurt Thomas are on the court to start the fourth quarter.
THIRD QUARTER
Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Roger Mason Jr. and Matt Bonner have at least 13 points each and the Spurs take an 83-69 lead into the fourth quarter.
The Thunder whittled what had been a 26-point Spurs lead down to 11. Tony Parker has six points in the third quarter and 14 for the game. His last basket put the Spurs in front 78-65.
The Spurs still have a solid lead at 72-57. But the teams are basically trading baskets. The Thunder have actually outscored the Spurs 38-33 since the end of the first quarter.
SECOND QUARTER
Roger Mason Jr. hit the Spurs' eighth 3-pointer of the game with time running out in the second quarter and the Spurs took a 62-44 halftime lead.
The Spurs led by as many as 26 points in the second quarter. The Thunder closed late in the half with a 12-1 run.
The Thunder are trying to work themselves back into the game. They are on a 7-0 run. The Spurs lead 58-39 with two minutes left in the half.
The Spurs aren't backing off. They're on a 13-5 run and lead 52-26 after a tip-in by Michael Finley.
Kurt Thomas is getting in on the act on offense. He has six points including a basket and a pair of free throws early in the second quarter. The Spurs lead 45-23.
FIRST QUARTER
Mason had 11 points and the Spurs were an electrifying 7 of 10 from 3-point range as they shot their way to a 39-19 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Mason nailed his third 3-pointer late in the first quarter as the Spurs rolled to a 28-12 lead.
Can you imagine Tim Duncan doing a T.O. routine because Matt Bonner is getting the ball too much? In all seriousness, Bonner had eight points in the first eight minutes of the game as the Spurs took a 21-10 lead.
Four of the Spurs' first five baskets were 3-pointers, two by Bonner and one each by Finley and Mason. The Spurs lead 14-8.

You'd think the Spurs would have learned this by now.
How many many many other times have they blown such leads and lose?
Spurs will most likely learn nothing of this game as they have done with those other games they have lost when leading by more then 20 points.

They are human! Unfortunately, good teams will let their foot off the gas against bad teams.
Remember they did blowout GS(another bad team) last week by 40 points and during the course of the season they will have games like this.
Last season....they lost to this team in Seattle 88-85 and Spurs had a big lead that game and played terrible!!!
I will agree with you they shouldn't have blown this lead.....but they did win and Pop will have something to talk about for the next 2 days before they go to New Orleans.
They will be ready for this tough back-to-back on Wed and Thur.

Yep. And considering we had no Manu for a lot of that time, and no Tony for some time, I think we're doing pretty damn well.

Spurs get big lead against lousy opponent.
Spurs get complacent and let lousy opponent back in game.
Spurs do just enough at end to grit out the win.

Manu missing that two free throws vindicated his lust for close games. Yes. Lust.

That was the epitome of a hard to get up for game that was shown in how they played.
The atmosphere was horrible and the team opposite of them was horrible as well.
I'll take the win and look forward to longingly to the game wednesday.

The Spurs lead 14-8.
and Joe Alexander of Milwaukee bucks just opt to write play-by-play for spurs instead of playing????:lol:rollin

Just saw the highlights of this game. Wow, thanks for not choking away a 20 pt lead to the worst team in the NBA.
